Bio

Hometown composer/producer/hip hop artist UEC returns with an unmistakable sound that has only been reinforced by the soothing tone and fluid melodies of award winning, Halifax-bred singer/songwriter Shobha. The group is completed by Toronto music producer/engineer/hypeman Bravo.
UEC first broke into the pop music industry in 2007 with an unforgettable appearance on MuchMusic’s DISBAND (season 1, episode 3) with his band "Soul Plane." At the time, the group became first in the history of the show to get the “thumbs up” from the notoriously stubborn judging panel. He later opened recording studio Big Bang Booth with long time friend Bravo. For the next 14 months they would go on to write and produce dozens of songs, many of which received national and international radio play in Hong Kong, Africa and the US.
Since even before the 2008 release of her solo album, Shobha's music had been garnering attention from all around the world. She has been featured in print, radio and television in various cities across Canada, India, the UK and in New York City. This true artist is no stranger to accolades either; winning several singer/songwriting competitions and a 2008 Toronto Independent Music Award for “Best Urban”. During Canadian Music Week 2008, Astral Media Radio proudly announced Shobha as the grand prize winner of Canadian Radio Star - the 15th Annual National Songwriting Competition. Representing Mix 99.9-FM, Shobha beat 11 other regional finalists with the song "Always On Your Feet" as chosen by a panel of industry experts and fans voting on-line. The song has since received nation wide radio play with Toronto’s CHUM 104.5-FM being the first to jump on board, which no doubt contributed to her debut at #26 on Billboard’s Emerging Canadian Artists Chart in February 2009.
Fast forward to exactly the first weekend of January 2012, where Shobha found herself at Big Bang Booth and met UEC and Bravo through a client of the studio. Their meshing personalities, hustling tendencies and musical chemistry resulted in a pop/hip-hop/yet-to-be-further-“genre”alized trio that would make their debut on the Canadian music scene in just a fitting three months later as - drumroll please - Triple Or Nothing.
