"Triple SP - Transmissions Album Review"

"If you check out their website (www.triplesp.net), the "about us" section has one statement that stands out among everything else: "The concept was hatched about forming a project that focuses on writing music we could personally identify with." Triple SP writes music that everyone can personally identify with, from gut-punching lyrics to energetic guitar riffs to catchy bass lines and steady drumbeats. Their songs cover the spectrum of human struggle, and "Transmissions" is an adrenaline punch to the mind and soul. While I had intentions of writing a much longer review for this album, I don't believe there is much else that need be said about the power and soul of this album. It gets added to a list I've started for 2011 centered around albums that leave me with a feeling of "radical self-empowerment," and having missed their shows one too many times, I am bound and determined to make the next one come hell or high water."

"2011 Fort Worth Album of the Year"

"or some unknown reason –– increased access to recording technology, YouTube music lessons, whatever –– 2011 was full of pretty-damn-good-to-great albums. As I’ve said before, I can’t remember a year as plentiful. Whittling down choices to a top 10 (plus honorable mentions and top EPs) was a little tough. A lot of good, strong albums came out, but to register on my lofty list, an album had to meet or almost meet a triumvirate of certain quasi-ineffable criteria: dynamism (does the album flow well?), technical appropriateness (does the music sound the way it’s supposed to?), and originality (how would this album stack up against major labels’ best?). Here are the honorable mentions: Secret Ghost Champion’s wonderful Psychosomatic Immortality, Constant Seas’ Cycles, Earthquake Country’s Diaspora, War Party’s Year of the D-g, Beauxregard’s Gryphoemia, Holy Moly’s Grasshopper Cowpunk, Triple SP’s Transmission, and Jefferson Colby’s Dinosaurs and Fireworks. "2012 Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards"

"Article on 2012 Fort Worth Music Awards: "Probably the least underground nominee is Triple SP. Melodic vocals? Check. Driving guitar? Check. Hip-hop beats? Indeed. TSP has ’em all, making heavy music that’s as accessible as it is rockin’." - S.S, Fort Worth Weekly (Jun 20, 2012) - Fort Worth Weekly

Bio

The Triple SP was formed in October of 2010. The concept was hatched about forming a project that focuses on writing Music we could personally identify with. Just a short week later we were playing shows around the DFW area and realized we were on to something. We Released our debut album "Transmissions" in June of 2011. The songs reflect on deep rooted human emotions and fears of not belonging. We have been recently been receiving air play 97.1 Loud and Local Show with Angela Chase and mentioned as an Honorable Mention for Best Local Album of the Year 2011 in the Fort Worth Weekly for our debut album Transmissions. We also received a 2012 Nomination in the Fort Worth Weekly in one of their Best Band Categories. Come check out our next show by becoming a fan and getting all of the updates.
