Bio

Rising R &B songstress Patricia Reed (Trish) was born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York. Mount Vernon is also the home of such film and recording legends as; Heavy D and the Boyz, Al B Sure, Phylicia Rashad and Sean “Diddy” Combs. Much like many of her predecessors Trish got her start in the music industry from singing in the church choir when she was a very young girl. Early on Trish realized that she possessed the gifts of music and singing. Her raw talent provided her with many opportunities to sing and lead the children’s junior and adults choirs of her church throughout her upbringing. Trish’s love and passion for music has always been sincere and genuine, her music has always provided her with comfort and an outlet to free her from the crime and violence that was happening in her neighborhood. While many of her counterparts and friends were playing with toys and dolls, Trish had bigger things in mind like performing in front of a live audience. She found entertainment by playing with microphones and other musical instruments. Trish’s singing was not the only thing that came to her naturally learning to play the piano by ear happened just as natural to her.
Trish’s love for music became top priority when she turned the age of 18. She was given the opportunity to work in the studio with the legendary Curtis Mayfield in Atlanta, GA. Trish worked her way up the ranks by auditioning and performing for various talent shows and several female group projects in her home town of New York. Her big break came when she was chosen to became part of female R&B group called “Explicit.” The group was under the direction of 90’s Hip-Hop star MC Search of 3rd Bass. MC Search and Explicit were pursuing a production deal for the group and was given a major audition with Columbia Records that ultimately fell through. The group later signed to a label deal with Guest Shot Records, (Co-owner was William Guest) of the world renowned Gladys Knight and the Pips. Do to contract situations and communication issue Trish moved on and began shopping for a solo project.
While pursing her solo career, Trish continued to audition for various background vocalist positions in order to acquire some showmanship experience. In 1994, she became the lead background vocalist for the Queen of Hip-Hop and R&B Ms. Mary J. Blige. Trish worked on both “What’s the 411” & “My Life” which were both record breaking successes. Trish accompanied Mary on several world tours and started to build along the way. Her work in Asia and the United Kingdom lead to several deal offers and music opportunities, so she stayed and lived in Japan for several months.
Trish would continue on to perform with Mary J. Blige and went on tour with her for her “Mary Album” in 1997. Through her work with Mary Trish has been able to work with a slough of major hit making, chart topping producers across the world. Trish caught another break when she had also had the opportunity to work in the studio with Grammy Award Winning recording artist Mr. Peabo Bryson. Her work with Mr. Bryson only fueled her drive and hunger to make it a professional solo artist.
In 1999, she gained another type of music industry experience, this time she gained some skills as working as an executive working with Rough Riders Record’s R&B group Parle (This was the label home of DMX, Eve, Drag ‘on, other famous rappers). Trish took a stab at tour directing and booking for the label, her primary market was the Southeastern Region of the U.S. She also secured radio exposure and promotional work on behalf of the labels artists.
Although an extraordinary vocalist, Trish is a business woman. She has launched a company called New York Connect Entertainment, in 1997. Her company plans entertainment industry events, such as album release parties, listening parties, and platinum parties. Her company is currently expanding its services to providing background vocalist for various artists, record labels, venues and special events.
Currently Trish is pursuing her lifelong passion as a vocalist. She is working diligently on her material in the studio as she is seeks a working on her my album project.
