"Trish: The Making Of A Star"

24: Let everyone know where your from and how long have you been doing music?

Trish: I'm from Toronto, Canada and I have been doing music every since I was 6 years old.

24: Tell the readers why you are the next biggest thing in music?

Trish: I think that my music represents something that is different with a distinct edge. The style is very unique and creative, my team and I are creating music that moves you.

24: How would you describe your sound?

Trish: It's funky, with R&B flavor mixed with a Hip-Hop influence, Soul mixed with a little Rock & Roll.

24: Who would you say has influenced you musically the most?

Trish: There isn't one person that I could choose but there are a couple of people that have influenced my music. Artists such as Betty Davis, Kate Bush, Nina Simone & Aaliyah to name a few have given me inspiration and guidance to persue my career in music. I also have to say that my Dad and sister played a huge part in me doing music too.

24: What are some of the projects your currently working on now?

Trish: Right now, I'm only focusing on recording my debut album.

24: Is there any record label out right now that you would say would fit you best as far as the type of music and marketing you would want?

Trish: That's a hard question to answer, there are so many record labels that I think would be interested in what I'm doing. To say which one specifically would be the best for me is difficult because each label has its pros and cons but I'm sure eventually I will find the right home for me and my music.

24: What's next for you?

Trish: I'm still recording songs for my album and doing shows, hopefully I'll be coming out to a city near you. Also, I recently shot a music video in Toronto for a track called 'Don't Watch Me' feat J. Diggz & Oh. It was directed by Lil X and should be released on the internet really soon.

24: How can the readers keep in touch with you and find out more about you?

Trish: Check out MySpace - www. myspace. com/trishonline or check out my Facebook fan page. Readers can go to these pages to find out about upcoming shows and see previous live performances that I've done.

24: Any final words?

Trish: Thanks for this opportunity to be interviewed and I wanted to thank all of my fans for their support.

Bio

Trish is the epitome of a triple threat, earning the right to reach for the sky and fly with the stars. Perhaps it’s the relentless depth of her passion or the intoxicating quality of her voice, but the dance-driven, electro-pop infused entertainer has an undeniable star power. Earning the coveted title as the “next big thing”, her music intertwines the elements of electrifying R&B and captivating funk with an edgy hip-hop feel.

Born on a leap year into a family of musicians, the stunning beauty was taught the value of arts at a young age. Her father is a guitarist who has shared the stage with icons such as Peter Tosh and the late Bob Marley. Trish was constantly surrounded by a creative outlet that enforced singing and performing as a form of self-expression. Even before graduating high-school, she had developed an impressive resume as a runway model.

“Can you imagine if all singers sounded and performed alike?” Trish says of her project. “My musical taste is so diverse, that definitely comes across in what I release.” With a voice to match her charismatic spirit, Trish has a tone that catches the attention of the audience and with a four-octave range so rare, industry professionals have begun to take note. “I have not seen a star quality this raw in my entire career” says Trish’s mentor Luther Brown, who is an internationally-renown choreographer who has worked with the likes of Brandy, Keshia Chante and Janet Jackson. Brown met Trish while she was performing with Act Out, a youth-run organization addressing hot topics such as drugs and self-image. “I saw her perform and was really taken back. There is no one else who looks, moves or sounds like her.” From there, he knew he had a star on his hands and took her under his wing. Trish laughs thinking of their first rehearsal, “I didn’t even know I could dance like what he brought out of me!”

Down to earth, gracious and charming, Trish mixes her performance background with a bravado that captures your ear. To date, she has performed at showcases and concerts in both New York City and Toronto, receiving accolades from each city’s top taste-makers. Her highly anticipated catchy beat-fuelled single “Don’t Watch Me” featuring J Diggz & Oh! will officially be released in early 2009, but is already accumulating a significant amount of downloads on MySpace. The accompanying video was directed by Lil X (Jay-Z, Rihanna, Usher), and is a career highlight for Trish; “I was always a huge fan of his work. It was a dream come true for him to be involved in this project.”

It’s rare to find a new artist who isn’t looking for an easy break on a reality show or casting call, and Trish works for every opportunity that opens for her. Exceptionally talented and supported by an all-star management team, she is poised to surprise the industry with her achievements. With a glow of confidence in her voice, she adds – “I’m an artist that puts my heart into everything. I’m ready to inspire the world.”
