Trista And The Sweats

So am I ready for the critical opinions of the people in The Music City? I think about this everyday while anxiously waiting with anticipation on the mastering of my first EP. After I finished college at Morehead State University, in my hometown, I made the move to Nashville. Every song started with an experience or an emotion that was occurring in my life at that moment, writing the lyrics and then putting melody to them in my own harmonious style, created peace to my mind and allowed me to grow and move on from that experience. Therefore if anyone finds themselves disliking my intellectual property or thinking it's boring then that is fine to me. But if someone might be relating to a life experience through listening to my music or smiling and laughing with friends while it's in the background, then my writing has been a great success. Some people back home might support me because they love me and care about my ambition for reaching my goals and wanting to make a difference, but I want strangers be turned on to my music. But in reality here in Nashville, I am always finding myself getting lost in the whole scene of things and being a bit overwhelmed. I have to remember that music got me here and to just always remember to be me. I have a style that gives me an image. I don't want to change for Nashville. I just want to be me and have a good time grooving to music that I create. This is only the beginning. I can only hope that music will take me around the world and I can sing for a difference.
