Bio

Tristan Horncastle
It was always a childhood dream of Southern Drive’s lead singer, Tristan Horncastle, to visit Nashville, Tennessee and record an album. He aspired to one day follow in the footsteps of his idols Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson and Waylon Jennings. Well today, Tristan is back from Nashville and with his debut CD album release “Good Kinda Crazy”, and his dream is now a reality as he begins his professional country music journey.
Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick on March 23, 1986, Tristan was introduced into music at the young age of 6 years old singing solos at his local Church on Sunday mornings. Tristan’s Uncle, Jimmy Brown, was a huge encouragement for Tristan. Jimmy started teaching Tristan how to play guitar at the age of 11. Tristan graduated from High School in 2004 and immediately began working for the City of Fredericton as a casual employee until eventually becoming employed full time as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Never giving up on his dream of having his own band, Southern Drive was established and the band started appearing at numerous community events, fundraisers, weddings and local pubs. Sticking to his country roots, his love of life and family, Tristan’s first song, “Country Boys Life”, is now a recognizable favorite at every event he performs.
Southern Drive is comprised of Matt Mazerolle (lead guitar), Vernon Daigle (Bass), Jody Vincent (drums) and Tristan (lead vocals, rhythm guitar). In 2011, the band appeared at the Battle of the Bands in Fredericton where they won first place and then went on to perform at the Maritime Country Music Festival. This year Tristan was given the honor and challenge of being a Judge at the Battle of the Bands. For the past 2 years, Tristan has shared the stage with such renowned acts as the Stampedes, Confederation Railroad and Dean Brody.
When Tristan isn’t performing, you’ll find him out 4-wheeling, boating, camping or spending time with his mother, Agnes Chase, his two sisters Leanne and Tanya, or his friends who have all supported him so much throughout his life. Present day, Tristan’s fiancée Brianne and daughter Alexis are the main inspirations in his life.
