Travis Rolfe (born April 11, 1985 in Wichita, Kansas, USA) currently known as T Roc is an American rapper. Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, music has come as nature’s gift to this young man. Being brought up in a musically inclined household, T Roc’s father always pushed him to pursue music. Also, his father became a well known concert promoter in the midwest and T Roc learned a lot about the business side of having a music entertainment company. The love of music blossomed in elementary from playing the trumpet in band, being self taught on the drums, piano lessons, and scoring leading acting/singing roles in school. At the young age of 13, T Roc knew he had lyrical abilities and was always writing poems to his school crushes. During the years of high school, T Roc was influenced by many southern rappers such as Lil Keke, Lil Flip, Slim Thug, etc. He began to freestyle over mainstream beats and have his bestfriend and local DJ Baulla aka Duece screw the music. It wasn’t until 2006 T Roc really began to take music seriously. Him and his older brother Young C began a partnership and opened up Mixdown Studios in Wichita, Kansas, while T Roc was in college finishing up his finance degree. During that time frame, connections with Algierz clothing line, Lil Ray of Boss Hogg Outlawz, 2 Live Crew, and many others help him scratch the surface of the music industry. As his progress and grind continues, T Roc is not taking no for an answer. T Roc was born Travis Rolfe on April 11, 1985 in Wichita, KS. T Roc is a young man that was seemingly predestined to have his hand in the music business, as he has been surrounded by C majors and treble clefs since birth. His father, known throughout the Midwest for concert promotions and musical talents of his own, saw his son’s talents and ambitions and urged him to pursue the craft. T Roc’s ability to combine his self taught instrument lessons and original poems to his school age crushes is what gives us the musician we have today. Listening to some of his current and previous pieces of art, traces of his musical influences can be heard, such as Lil Keke, Lil Flip, and Slim Thug. This is most noted in some of his works that followed the appeal of the southern chopped and screwed movement, where his tracks were screwed by his best friend and local DJ, known as DJ Baulla or Deuce. His introduction to those outside of his Wichita studio, Mixdown Studios co-owned with his older brother Young C, is partly attributable to the relationships he was able to form with Algierz clothing line, Lil Ray of Boss Hogg Outlawz, and 2 Live Crew just to name a few. As T Roc continues to master his craft, his drive, determination, and passion continues to grow. His method to be recognized as an artist is a simple one, always have a message. This is a promise fans know T Roc will keep as it has direct impact on the continued growth of his true love, MUSIC.
