TRooPA

Demetrius Andrew Harvey, known by his stage name TRooPA, is an 18 year old Hip-Hop artist from Britain. He is the founder of the "Hip-Hop Heads" organisation.

Raised on R'n'B, TRooPA discovered his love of hip-hop at the early age of ten. When Demetrius turned 13, his uncle introduced him to the legendary hip-hop album "ILLMATIC" by rap artist Nas. This brought Demetrius one step closer to appreciating musicians for their lyrical skill, not just the beat, or the artist's popularity.

By age 16, he deemed old school artists, 2Pac, Nas and Guru, as the major influences on the importance he attaches to lyrical content. Also inspired by hip-hop producers Dr. Dre, DJ Premiere and orchestral soundtrack composer Hans Zimmer, TRooPA follows suite and composes his own music.

Pushing the boundaries of British hip-hop, Demetrius has stepped aside from the staple Grime Vibe. He weaves his personal experience throughout his lyrics to create songs that mimic our everyday fears, hopes and loves, in order to reach us emotionally.

His style consists of a firm and heavy hip-hop drum beat, combined with elements of orchestral and classical music. Where most Rappers use the beat to sell the song, TRooPA uses it to amplify the emotion of his lyrics. This ensures that the listener hears his songs not just with the ears, but with heart and soul.
