How do you relax at lunchtime and go back to work re-energized? By listening to some great music. Folklorama Culture at the Cube has the right type of entertainment for you! Running from Monday to Friday until August 6, 2010 at Old Market Square, this series of concerts features some hot bands and musicians.
Tropical 99 was the group performing at Old Market Square on Friday, July 30, 2010. The talented musicians entertained the audience for 90 minutes. Their lovely and lively Afro-Cuban sounds and tunes created a dancing wave. Some people were on their feet from start to finish, happily following the music on their own or with a partner. And even the cloudy skies would not crash the party!

Tropical 99 is a Winnipeg-based band. Its members – Cabú, Jorge Orellana, Jonathon and Patrick Barrios, Jaime Torres, Estuardo and Josue Figueroa, and Jose Jaramillo – come from Venezuela, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Colombia.
Created in 1989, the band has played contemporary and classic Afro-Cuban music for all ages. Tropical 99 mixes the street sounds of the conga with Merengue, salsa, Guaguancó, Bugaloo, Cumbia and other Caribbean sounds.
