"Troubador"

Troubador is an indie, alternative, band from Delran New Jersey. A band that started in Algebra class in high school, Troubador has has many advancements in their career. Their sound is high energy while putting life in perspective. There is an excitement and thought provoking attitude that develops within the listener that is very attractive. Blazing their own path, there is no mistake they have the power to make a statement in the ever expanding music world. A sound to rock out to and to chill to, Troubador allows for a new thought to take place when so much seems the same. They can move from highs to lows, to hard to soft and back. A sound to relate to. Check them out on SonicBids: http://www.sonicbids.com/epk/epk.aspx?epk_id=211919

Songs I like are "The Floor is Lava", and "Between the Truth and the Lies". They can be found on their Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/troubadormusic - The Independent Music Scene

This New Jersey band I hope gets picked up very soon! Troubador is an indie rock foursome with some decent talent.
The thing that drew me to this music is on top of the beautiful soft piano, guitar and bass melodies with clever drumming- there is a soothing beautiful voice. Perfect for a home picnic in the backyard with tea and cupcakes! I hope all you guys support them, especially all you New Jersians who have the opportunity to see them live. In the meantime check out their kooky interview - Hot Generation

"Up And Coming"

"Troubador's Age Range is 18 to 20, but their music is mature, well composed and musically cohesive.
-The Following is an excerpt of a Review written by: Jacquelin Voegtlin-

Dated: June 10th, 2009

"So I'm standing backstage at Hangar 84, surrounded by kids sporting spiked hair and tight jeans. I can't help but think that the next act will be something punk, screamo, metal. And then I hear 17-year-old Erika Ricchini, unknown to me up to this point, on stage with her band Troubador. Her voice pulls me like a siren would be from the back of the place to the very front of the stage. I couldn't have been any closer if I tried...and I did.
Hailing from Delran, New Jersey, the band is made up of drummer Adam Cattell, guitarist Phil Smith, guitarist Chris Small, bassist Elliott Reynolds and singer/pianist Ricchini. Most impressive after hearing their set, was learning that Troubador's age range is but 16 to 18 years old. You wouldn't know this from the music they belt. It is mature, well composed and musically cohesive. This is an achievement that most young musicians struggle with.
The band formed when "Erika passed a note to Chris in Algebra class asking him if he'd like to start a band" says Phil Smith. From that day they began practicing as a unit, and it came together quickly.
The band has a folkie, beautiful sound and is often compared to the Texas-based group, Eisley. This has much to do with the lead singer Ricchini's outstanding vocal abilities. She's got a haunting and imperfectly perfect way about her. The constant comparison to the aforementioned band "does not bother [Troubador] at all." They admit they would not exist if it weren't for Eisley, but say, "I hope we are never perceived as an Eisley cover band."
There's no chance of that.
.....My guess? They'll go pretty far, but hey, that's just my opinion. Check them out for yourself at www.myspace.com/troubadormusic"

When I think New Jersey local scene, I automatically think three things - screamo, untalented, and that shows aren't worth the money unless I know the bands. So obviously when my friend told me I should listen to this band, Troubador, I was automatically wondering if I'd like them before even knowing the genre. But I gave them a listen, and fell in love. If you're looking for something outside the normal realm of untalented New Jersey screamo bands, then Troubador is the band for you. So while you're listening to their unique music that will blow you away, be sure to check out my interview with them! - Jennyhero.com

Bio

Even as a six-year-old girl banging out notes on the piano and writing songs about imaginary friends and swing-sets, it has been in singer/songwriter Erika Marie's blood to play music for anybody willing to listen. Eleven years later, she stood on a small stage with two friends. They had nothing but a keyboard, an electronic drumset, and an acoustic guitar. From the first note to leave her throat to the last resonating chord of their first set ever, the audience was utterly captivated by this new style of music. Enter: Troubador

After a note was passed from Erika (Frontwoman) to Chris (Acoustic Guitar/vocals) in Algebra class, the band Troubador was formed and their growth has been rapid since that moment. Troubador has been a band for about two and a half years and has experienced many opportunities that most bands never get to experience, Including playing live on Radio 104.5 Philadelphia and opening for acts such as The Ataris, Maps and Atlases, and The Glorious Unseen. They have played shows in New York City as well as Philadelphia and all over South Jersey. Their mesmerizing live show and captivating vocals draw the crowd in and make every show great. (As crowd participation is often encouraged) Their many influences include bands like: Deas Vail, Lydia, Eisley, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, Sparklehorse, Sleeping at Last and Sigur Ros. Their universal sound draws love from fans that enjoy indie/experimental all the way to folk/country music.

Journalist Jaquelin Voegltin writes for The Vineland Grapevine, "...I can't help but think that this next act will be something punk, screamo, metal. And then I hear Erika Ricchini, unknown to me at this point, and her band Troubador. Her voice pulls me in like a siren would, from the back of the place to the very front of the stage..."
Troubador has also received guidance from a few who are no strangers to the industry. Boyd DuPree, manager of Eisley remarks "Strong lead vocals" and Dave Adams (who has worked with Steve Howe, the guitar player from the nationally known band 'YES') has recorded and produced Troubador, for free. Kathy Sledge of Sister Sledge describes Erika's voice as "effortless" and the band's style as "unique."

But why all this talk? Listen to the music. You'll be hooked.
