Bio
Trouveres' diverse catalogue features tuneful melodies and heartfelt passion. Their influences range from the classic songwriters of the sixties and modern jazz to post-rock, emo, power-pop and indie rock.
"There's no experience that can't be drawn on for creative inspiration".
Front man Jason Bernstein, has performed in a number of bands. In 2003 he decided (for the time being) that playing solo was the best way to be true to his musical intentions. He built up a repertoire by busking across Canada and South Africa. The experience helped him form his own unique approach to songwriting. Jason eventually added Ariel Posen on bass to the music mix. Keeping the sets acoustic at this point, they adopted the name Trouvères, and would often feature a third soloist (who was chosen very spontaneously at the gig). When they decided to go into Groove Jungle studio to record an EP, for which they employed the talents of drummer Darrin Cohen, the volume was turned up; just a tad.
