Bio

Fred Henry Astaire III is the lead vocalist and guitarist for the band Trowar. “I use a little different tuning, dropping down to a C#, and then running a stack of fifths” he simplifies things exposing a pentatonic, bluesy, native vibe - something that Fred as a solo artist had been searching for quite a while.
Hailing from a diverse musical background, he delivers with TROWAR what he claims is his new and ultimate sound.
The biggest musical influences for Fred Henry growing up were surrounding him in his day-to-day life. “Vodka in a coffee cup, surrounded by ashtrays with butts of half smoked cigarettes, still burning, late into the night.” Says Fred, who as a young boy would fall asleep year after year to the sound of his stepfather composing classical music. From his great grandfather, the late Fred Astaire, his older brother & musician Peter Klimes, to his best friend from high school Dave Gonzalez of the Hacienda brothers. Fred grew up in a rich musical circle knowing deep down that he wanted to find and deliver his own unique sounding voice.

Out of the house alternative rock influences helped shape the musical mind of a young Fred Henry artists such as Weather Report, Return to Forever, Coltrane, Yellow jackets, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Hendrix, and his all time favorite Automatic Man.
These days it’s Gojira, Soilwork, Meshugga, and Opeth that inspires.
His repertoire and wealth of musical knowledge accumulated over the years has allowed him to play in all sorts of bands, he says though, that ‘metal’ is still his true love.

His new and latest band delivers what he feels is the sound he’s always searched for;
An accumulation of the last 20 years of experimenting between different styles. An introspective glance of his generation and the current situation of our world, delivered through a Utopian and long overdue perspective; TROWAR
