Troy D savors life with passion, style, strength, and character. Straddling on the line of raw RnB and club pop, the international singer and songwriter has raised the bar with his latest release, DTension (2013). The genre-jumping productions combined with Troy D's silky tenor vocals, create that big sound that DJ's around the world crave. He's not afraid to share those intimate moments either. The American-born singer and songwriter, has reigned on indy charts, performed in nightclubs and festivals across the globe, and has been nominated and awarded in the USA and Asia for his genre-jumping sounds and electric live performances. Troy D's inspirations come from personal experiences and his exploration and appreciation of music living all over the world. Living in China, he's gearing up for his next release. Expect a 2014 release. Troy D considers it, "...an extension to DTension. An unexpected sound."
Troy D's bold moved to Singapore where he wrote, recorded, and launched the release of DTension, allowed him to experience music that comes in a world of styles, inspiring him write the energetic, colorful, erotic album. The leading single, "The Night," is merely an introduction to Troy D's life in the night scene. The single was remixed by Seattle-native, Bassrock, sliding it into the rising EDM scene. The independent artists single debuted at No.10 and peaked at No. 2 on USA EDM Charts (EDM Network), raking in over 20k plays and in just one week, became the most downloaded single since his  fresh start in the music scene. The album consists of driving productions from DJ ShawT (Canada) and DJ Freek van Workum (Netherlands) and features two rising stars in the the rap scene, Junior Reign of California and 21 SoulBlaze, SIngapore's first MTV rapper.
Troy D launched his music career after graduating in Chicago and pacing through the 9-5 scene. It wasn't until then that he started auditioning and competing in music endeavors in his free time, tapping into this almost-forgotten talent. He was crowned the winner of Chicago's Road to Fame, the winner of ESPN's Star-Spangled Sing-off, eventually opening a Chicago White Sox game with the National Anthem. Stirring a buzz in the local music scene, and eager to step into the music scene the over-achiever tested the waters. Just two months after releasing the 2011 ep, the rising star was in top spots on Vancouver, Canada's AMAHits, for over 13 consecutive weeks. Troy D was nominated at the 2012 Chicago Music Awards as an Emerging Star with his single, "Star." In February 2012, he had the chance to perform "Bottom of my Heart," live on Chicago's CAN TV, which recently pulled in a nomination at the 2013 VIMA Music Awards in Asia for "Best Pop Song."
Eager to be heard, Troy D organized shows early in his career, booking performances in some of the hottest night clubs in L.A., Las Vegas, and Atlanta, and with sponsors such as Bud Light, at the worlds largest music and food festival, The Taste of Chicago. He earned some of the top performing slots in other large music festivals such as, Chi-Live, Scorcher Fest-Australia, Interfusion Music Summit shortly thereafter. Full of charisma, energy, and charm, he leveraged his ep and booked his first modeling appearance through Men's Wearhouse, where his idyllic-blissful style and inviting personality shined to his advantage. Troy D strives to keep his music and life connected to world events. The singer's run more than one 26-mile marathon in support of raising awareness to real-world issues. Energetic and youthful, there's not doubt the singer has a keen sense of business.
His newest endeavor, DTension, represents his firm believe that you should keep your hands in your destiny and create memorable experiences on your journey.
