"Gospel artiste Troy Genius"

Troy
Genius is a Gospel artist from Kingston, Jamaica. However, he’s based in West Palm Beach, Florida now. He is the older brother of Red Rat, both of whom attended Meadowbrook High School in Kingston before moving to the Sunshine State.

Troy’s style is hardcore with strong Christian messages as well as social commentary and fun praise lyrics. At first listen, you’d think he’s another DeeJay trying to get famous but he isn’t. Listen closer to the lyrics and you’ll find the depth at which he reaches from, to get his message broadcasted.

He’s already seen some success, especially among local church concerts and constant airplay on Fame FM and Love FM. However, there are many more areas to reach, locally and internationally. I need all radio, club and sound system DJs to play his music.

It takes great pleasure in introducing this gifted Deejay to the world. Attached are three amazing tracks that I’m sure you’ll like. These singles are fun, catchy and inspirational, all done on Dancehall riddims. Troy’s lyricism is phenomenal and his flow is unique. You can clearly hear his words and understand the message being sent. - http://www.blogcatalog.com/blog/entertainment-vybz/e09c2ef249641b65ca060bfee417857f

Bio

Troy Genius was born in St. Ann, Jamaica on the 14 th of November, with music in his blood. His father, Wallace Wilson snr., who was also a talented musician, composer and arranger co-produced on projects for American song-writer & musician Paul Simon. He was also a part of the Byron Lee & the Dragonaires band for over 30 years and also co-produced for Jimmy Hendricks. Troy Genius has credited his father as his main musical influence because he gave him the things that were to become hallmarks of his music, which were an inventive and open mind. He grew up in Ocho Rios, Jamaica where he got his early performance experience, at the tender age of four years old entertaining alongside his older brother Richard Barr, also a very talented musician who has worked with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Cliff and Diana King. At the age of nine he moved to Kingston where well-known Jamaican musicians and producers like Glen and Danny Browne and Gussie Clarke introduced him to the wonders of studio recording. Though he enjoyed music, he got a real taste for entertaining for the masses when he performed at his alma mater, Meadowbrook High School. He later shared the joy and fever for music when he performed with his younger brother, Wallace Wilson Jr., A.K.A. Red Rat, which changed his life forever. Being an all around musician joined with creating and mixing rhythms in the studio and voicing he later played the drums for most of the top Reggae/Dancehall acts out of Jamaica such as Beenieman, BountyKiller, Dennis Brown, Red Rat, Sean Paul, Baby Cham, Spragga Benz, Wayne Wonder just to name a few. He has also collaborated/worked on projects for well-known artists including UK’s Grammy Award winning Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, Alicia Keyes, Papa San, Inner Circle and also soundtracks for the movie "After the Sunset" & "Rush Hour 3". Since the recent passing of his father in March 2007, he has now focused his attention on the ministry of God. TROY GENIUS always knew at a young age that God played a major role in the direction of his life. His new found love for the Savior has led to his long awaited debut Gospel album, "Unfailing Love". With strength from the Lord after his father's death, he can now testify to the nations that God's love is real and it never fails us. He has launched his own production company, G-LAB PRODUCTIONS, L.L.C., based out of Florida and he is doing great things in the music industry. "UNFAILING LOVE" is available on ITUNES!!!
