"Tonight in Music: The Theif Cheif, Hi-Fi Reset"

The second thing you should know about for tonight is Hi-Fi Reset. If you are in the mood for a pre-humpday dance party I would Highly recommend getting down to the Chop Suey tonight and checking these guys out. Seattle is famous for really solid funkiness. Most of that reputation has grown out of the long standing musicians of the genre that made the old Scarlet Tree infamous before it burned down a few years back. I haven’t seen these guys live yet, but if their recordings are at all representative, they are definitely moving the funk scene in a positive direction. There isn’t anything that really stands out as spectacular, but if you are in the mood for some solid fun to groove to funk goodness, this is probably a pretty good bet. Get on down to Chop tonight and shake it! - Seattle Show Gal

The Bohemian Freestyle EP (due late May)

Troy Jagan is delving deep into the spirit of vintage funk and soul. Channeling his idols, Prince, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder, he weaves a rich bed of sensual sounds straight from the 60s and 70s. This doesn't stop him from keeping up with the moves of modern hip-hop and RnB.

You might expect something different from a 22-year-old Seattle resident. While drawing from the creativity of the Pacific Northwest's fertile music scene, Troy uses his own vision to create mood music straight from the heart.

This originality and depth is what sets Mr. Jagan apart from his peers. Listeners of all ages will feel refreshed and comforted to hear the sound of Seattle's early musical roots revived in such a young cat.

Troy writes, sings, produces, and records all of his music. Keyboards are his main game, in the studio and on the stage. Visit him at the club and you'll find him jamming on keys, chopping beats on his MPC, and projecting his infectious falsetto across an engaged audience.

He is truly committed to his craft and has no intention of slowing down. See him live at one of his energetic and colorful shows and you will instantly recognize his talent. Although he knows his influences well, Troy isn't trying to emulate anyone, he's just got soul inside him.

Troy's debut EP Bohemian Freestyle is due in early July with a video for the song "Alright" currently in production.
