Bio
Troy Thompson began as a singer/guitar player in '97 for punk band in Chicago. Playing the House of Blues and at the legendary music club, The Metro, Troy's band found moderate success in the Midwest. Also earning a spot on the Midwest leg of The Van's Warped Tour in 2002, and asked to return for 2003's line-up. Troy eventually left the band in late 2003. Appreciating where his former band had taken him, Troy wanted to pursue a musical genre that inspired him personally. It was not difficult for Troy to find a drummer that he felt had the same musical aspirations. Matt Fligelman was a connection Troy had made after leaving his former band. The newest member, Dustin Fairbanks, also had similar musical background as Troy. After recently leaving a rock band, Dustin was interested in playing bass for Troy and Matt. Watching Alt Country bands reminded Troy of why he began writing music. Artists such as Ryan Adams, Bobby Bare Jr. and Lucero have been motivating to Troy's musical pursuits. Since Troy's departure from the punk band, he has played at historic venues such as Fitzgerald's Nightclub in Berwyn. More recently Troy has released a cd, Live at Fitzgerald's. By spring 2007 Troy Leif hopes to release a cd. Until the release of their cd Troy Leif hopes to play more shows, as well as promote their upcoming cd.
