Bio

Troy Miller is a seasoned acoustic musician hailing from Evansville, Indiana where he is a celebrated hometown singer/songwriter. Troy has been playing and singing nearly all of his life. At the tender age of 8 years old, he grabbed a guitar and played in open tuning. Chuck Berry is the reason why Troy wanted to play the guitar and Elvis Presley was used as an incentive to pick up sticks in the yard. He loved Elvis so much his parents told him that if he picked up all the sticks in the yard, Elvis might land his plane there. He picked up a lot of sticks. When he was 10 years old, he bought a guitar for five dollars from a used car lot and taught himself how to play chords. He hasn't put a guitar down since and he quit picking up sticks.
Kris Kristofferson and Merle Haggard were his influences to become a singer/songwriter and he now looks to Southern Culture on the Skids to remember that music is supposed to be fun. Entertaining professionally since the age of 18 in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, Troy has played over 4,000 shows in venues from coffee houses to the 12,500 seat Memorial Coliseum. He plays his large repertoire of Americana roots, blues, country, rock and original music to a loyal army of fans in the Tri-State area and has packed venues with captivated audiences.

Troy's unique booming voice, reminiscent of Waylon Jennings and Tom Waits, coupled with his passionate guitar playing, give birth to his soul-stirring, high-energy stage show that leaves people yearning for more. His dynamic performances and his gift for connecting with a wide range of audiences have earned Troy several awards from News4U including People's Choice, Best Male Vocalist, Best Guitarist, and Best Performer. He's been featured in numerous magazines such as Evansville Living and Thunder Roads.
Troy is currently working on his latest album and is shooting the video for his new single, "Pardon Me" in Los Angeles with Shelterfish Productions.
