TRUMPMANIS is the new project for Sydney based Producer / Engineer David Trump.
Cutting his studio teeth with Big Heavy Stuff's Maximum Sincere/Covered In Bruises period recordings, he also spent time working at Greene St Studios in NYC - the birthplace of such great albums from Public Enemy / Sonic Youth / Blues Explosion / You Am I - continuing with an overseas recording jaunt to Sweden with The Church.
Since returning to Australia, David has helped craft a sound for many diverse local artists Sarah Blasko / Peabody / Something For Kate / Darren Hanlon - as well as playing a pivotal role in BlueBottle Kiss's new millennia musical output. Additional to his studio work, 2005/06 has seen live recordings for the Big Day Out Festival/ The Vines / INXS / Jamie Cullum / Jack Johnson.
On top of that, he has previously played live with Centipede and moonlighted as a Bez-like figure for Big Heavy Stuff. David is currently writing and rehearsing, with his other band Todd Sparrow, on a follow up to their 2004 album Heres To The Start Of Something Beautiful.
Enter TRUMPMANIS. Feeling that he had something of his own to express, David set about forming his collection of fragmented ideas. Armed with a limited selection of musical equipment and a trusty laptop, the material was written and constructed over a 3-year period. Bridging the realms of electronica and rock, and taking influence from such artists as Bjork / RadioHead / NIN, the music is, at times, dark, melancholic and dynamic in structure and sound.
With the addition of Tim Bruniges on the Drum Kit, the TRUMPMANIS live extravaganza has taken flight. July will see the release of How Complacent, as a single, and with the album to follow later in the year.
