Bio

For 19-year-old twins, Max and Spencer Ernst, music has always been an important part of their lives. Growing up in Silver Spring, Maryland, there was always music playing in their home. When they began creating their own music together on piano during their pre-school years, it was obvious that this was not just an interest but also a natural talent. By age ten, they formed a band with some neighborhood friends; their sound heavily influenced by such bands as Third Eye Blind, Coldplay and Incubus.

After playing countless festivals and venues the next couple of years, they placed second in the International Songwriting competition. Word of mouth quickly spread about the band and, as a result, they sold out a 600-capacity show during the pre-sale for a performance in a school auditorium. At the core of it all, the band was motivated by Max and Spencer’s unending desire to make music their life.

As their buzz spread throughout the DC area, Dave Connelly from the band Ebo (Maverick Records) was put in touch with them by their manager Alan Stewart. The creative connection between Dave, Max & Spencer was immediate and resulted in an amazingly hooky, melody-driven demo of 3 songs, recorded in Dave's home studio. Around the same time, producer Chris Keup heard about Max & Spencer through some of his relatives in the DC area. Skeptical about the abilities of a couple of 15 year olds, he first listened to their demo on the way to their first meeting. About halfway through the performance of their first song, Chris knew they were something special and immediately proposed that they come to Charlottesville and record some demo tracks.

After inking a publishing deal with Cherry Lane and getting numerous featured film and TV placements, they began working with producer Stacey Jones (Low v. Diamond, Plain White T’s), founder and singer of American Hi-Fi and drummer for Veruca Salt. This collaboration has led to interest with a Sony imprint that has helped to get the tracks recorded. The band’s self titled e.p. is scheduled for release in the New Year.

Other members of Trustfall include Pat Shine, an extremely talented guitar player from Olney, Md, and hard hitting rock drummer, Greg Mallick, from Rockville, Md. If you haven't seen them yet, make sure you check out this young band’s high intensity show.
