Truth of Fiction

Southern Dancecore is what Truth of Fiction calls its music. Singing and screaming vocals accompany a fusion of southern guitar riffs, hardcore breakdowns, and techno dance beats, a sound influenced by The Devil Wears Prada, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Underoath and Confide. This four piece band include Jonathan Counts, drummer, Chris Vasquez, bassist, Elias Hernandez, lead guitarist and Jose Hernandez, vocalist. They first played together as a Christian worship leading band. In 2008, they began writing original music and performing locally. Since that time, they have performed over 25 shows in music venues in Phoenix and surrounding cities. In February 2010, they headlined a show to release their first EP, “And the Truth Came Out.” Since then, they have played shows with nationally touring bands such as Sleeping With Sirens, From First to Last, Chelsea Grin, Motionless in White, Greeley Estates, Impending Doom, Stick to Your Guns ,Born of Osiris and Asking Alexandria. In the words of one fan, they always bring something new to each performance- something exciting, and the music gets better each time. In the near future, Truth of Fiction hopes to tour and record a full length CD.
