TSELA (say-la)

New York City, New York, USA

The accordion hip hop power trio, ┬┐Threat?, is a live hip hop band with an interest in mixing melodic influences to the rhythmic structures of rap.

Threat? is a musical creation presenting multiple stylistic posturings in a hip hop context, which we call "Jazz Clash". The lyrics of Punk Cadet Julz A use phrasing inflections that hearken to scat singing and Burlesques comedy. Julz enrolled in some freak classes from Prof. Rockwell, the Experimental Hip Hop Redneck, which brought the nod. Akil-Tau, the Southern Fried Beatnik Soul Brother, adds new meaning to the title known as MC. As a product of the DIY ethos of old school, Threat? is the energy of a live band through a melting pot of styles. Considering the instrumentation, this band is an appropriately New York group, characteristic of Run-DMC and Stetsasonic.
