Bio

What do you get when you combine two local artists who grew up together, with perfect music chemistry as if they’ve been doing it since birth? A duo that considers themselves blood brothers, hence the name Thicker Than Water. Erupted on the Austin hip hop scene collectively only months ago, J. Riss and B. Scott have already established a solid fan base and have become known for a wild stage presence and a confident demeanor.
Attending the same school since junior high, the two pursued the same goals separately before eventually linking up to have singles played on their local radio stations and songs for sale on iTunes. After creating the type of buzz any artist would dream of the two quickly became fan favorites around Austin, winning competitions, performing at live venues, bars, parties, etc. to eventually traveling statewide becoming a clever name to reckon with.
“I think, they love it so much because of the bars honestly, the heavy metaphors, creative wordplay, and original delivery.” Riss explains during a radio interview, after being asked why do you think people like your music. Later on in the same interview, B. Scott was asked, “Why do YOU enjoy doing what you do?” He replied, “Honestly, I enjoy seeing the reaction of a listener enjoying my music, something I created, you know?”
Thicker Than Water has no intentions on slowing down. Upcoming projects include their debut album entitled “Blood Brothers”, a highly anticipated mix tape set to drop January 23, 2012, (J. Riss’ birthday) an Artist Showcase with A&R’s from various major labels, and are in the process of having more songs on mainstream radio stations. Both members have two jobs yet still find time to put countless hours into their music career. It isn’t hard to see this duo has the drive, determination, and fortitude to continue to do what it takes to make it in this industry. All they ask is…”Don’t sleep on TTW!”
