Bio

Founding members Alex Finley and Austin Lancaster began meeting in Austin’s garage in December 2009 and January 2010 to begin writing for an unknown future project. In early summer 2010, they recruited drummer, Dillon McInnes, and bass player, Adam Rice, and formed Tube Amp Love Affair. They began playing shows in the greater DFW area and built a dedicated local and regional fan-base. They recorded seven songs for their EP, Big Horn Sessions, and released it in August 2010. After a year of gigging and writing, TALA said farewell to founding member Alex Finley in March 2011 as he left his role as guitar player to manage the band. The band reformed as a three piece and signed with Finley’s label, Valley Road Recording Company, in May 2011 and was subsequently dropped in June 2011 due to internal conflict within VRRC. Members Dillon McInnes and Austin Lancaster decided to form their own independent record label, Big Horn Records. Comprised of reworked older songs and polished new songs, Tube Amp Love Affair’s debut 15 song LP, Backseat Lover, came out July 22, 2011. After the refreshing experience of touring as a three-piece, the band decided to add a guitar player to the lineup in fall 2011. They recruited fellow guitarist, Eric Rice. Their newest release, Big Bad Black Socrates-EP released December 16, 2011 includes some outtakes from the Backseat Sessions as well as some new material.
