Tucker Finn

Tucker Finn grew up in a suburb of Toronto as an adopted kid with an older adopted sister. She began writing songs in 1996 while living in LA and working in the film business. In 2000 she moved back to her hometown where she co-founded the alt-country outfit, The Jane Waynes (2000-2004). In October of 2010, she released her self-produced debut solo cd, The Cup & The Lip. Exclaim called the record "simply superlative" and "A spectacular achievement". The Toronto Star noted her gift for balancing sardonic humor and profound sadness. MOKB claimed that fans of great songwriting, particularly in the vein of Aimee Mann, would find an immediate and almost unhealthy attraction to The Cup & The Lip. Tucker's song's have been described as "three minute movies that you don't want to miss"; no surprise given her background as a feature film set designer and graphic novelist. While her cinematic style may land her, partly, in the Americana camp, her richly embroidered tunes and fresh production also resonate with twenty-somethings who crave smart, insightful lyrics. Tucker currently lives in Toronto’s film district in a converted corner store.
