Bio

2012 is set to be a big year for the "Turnbull Sessions". The band have recently recruited an extra percussionist Ben Carey, who has added an extra level of rootsy rhythm and madness to the outfit. With a new album currently being recorded the boys are gearing towards a exciting summer tour what will be there 3rd album in hand. The band also have residency throughout 2012 (on the last friday of every month) at the best pub on the mid north coast, The Federal Hotel Bellingen. Live recordings are also being taken every month to be used for a later live release.

After the national success with there 1st album "Made In A Day", in 2005 the Turnbull Sessions have been continuously touring the Australian coastline. The 1st album was recorded at Rockinghorse studios in Byron Bay in Oct 2005 and was produced by Anthony Lyncenko, who has worked with artists such as Pete Murray Cruel Sea & George. The debut album received national airplay and distribution through MGM.

The bands 2nd album was recorded live at the South West Rocks Gaol in 2008 and was released as double CD and DVD. The brothers have also performed at performed at various festivals throughout there career including Peats Ridge, Day In The Vines, SWR Gaol Festival, Nimbin Mardigras, Brisbane Urban Hum. With a more percussion driven vibe the band is looking forward to sharing this at festival in 2012.

Growing up in Dongdingalong (Macleay Valley) NSW, the 3 Turnbull brothers were harvested from the Aussie bush musician lifestyle. With world class musicians as their mentors, they were immersed in bluegrass, folk, blues and rock influences. After endless days free jamming, a truly unique musical style has developed.

Departing from the Dong, the 3 went their individual ways to become qualified and highly skilled in respected "real world" careers. Jason became a Company Director of Digiscape, Simon an Exercise Physiologist and Geoff a Neuroscientist. Slowly, however the need to return to their true passions began. After a successful east coast tour in 2005 The Turnbull Sessions continue to extensively tour and will expand with a National tour over the Summer of 2012 for the new album.
