The Turn’em Loose Band brings to audiences the diverse and talented mixture of four unique musical artists. Apart they have many years of wide ranging professional/entertainment experience and together they make for an authentic sound. Their extensive backgrounds mesh smoothly to produce a classic mix in a wide range of genre, including Country Rock, Country and Rhythm & Blues. Audiences are entertained by tight musical compilations, cover tunes and original works of artistic sound. If an event calls for a larger band ensemble, Turn’em Loose can call upon several talented musical friends to meet or exceed any requirements. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada ... originally established in 1998 as a backup band for Calgary's own recording artist Russ McIvor. In the spring 2007 resurrected after a year of break with new energy, enthusiasm and new sound. Recently - band recorded a first CD of original and cover songs and working hard on their first album of original material to be recorded in near future.Originally from a small town in Newfoundland Quentin’s love for music began at a young age. Through many hours of self-motivation and practice he taught himself how to play the guitar as well as delving in to music composition and writing lyrics. At age 12 Quentin joined his first band and relished every minute of the creativity. Over the years he has played for several Cover projects all the while promoting his own original music. Quentin’s determination paid off when in 2004, he was awarded a substantial Grant by The music industry association of Newfoundland and Labrador. With this he was able to record his first professional demo consisting of three of his original songs. Quentin is a lover of all genre of music- Anything from Bach to Slayer. The artists that have been his key inspiration in writing are Neil young, John Denver, The Eagles, James Taylor, Stan Rodgers, Matt Mays , just to name a few. Currently Quentin is working on an Audio Engineering Degree at The Academy of Production and Recording Arts - APRA - as well as building his own home studio. Ever driven and always inspired, Quentin’s goal is to start his own business and “give back a little to the music that”, in his words, “has given him everything.”Born in to a family with strong cultural values and an emphasis on music and singing, Nick comes by his artistic passion honestly. As a child Nick was a choir boy, traveling with the church to perform and progressed in to his first band, a blue grass gospel group. Nick has played in numerous bands throughout all of Western Canada. His first playing gig was with Canadian country legend Gary Buck. He has also performed in successful duo acts one of which was nominated Alberta duo of the year by the CCMA in 1988. Nick has worked with various recording artists over the years with a constant desire to continue to perform and record. He is an accomplished guitarist with a clean and unique sound, along with a seasoned stage presence. Among his many talents and pursuits Nick has also jammed on Broadway in Nashville strictly for fun and the opportunity to play with musicians that he admires. Shawn Kelly began playing the drums professionally at age fourteen and is well traveled with many live performances on an International playing field under his belt. Also known as Shawnee Hash and BamBam he is a seasoned and experienced musician, which has combined real life experience with artistic music studies and recording opportunities. Shawn’s passions for music and for life are ever present when he ventures forward with his goals of creativity, fulfillment and longevity.Mike’s music experience spans many years and countries. Originally from Eastern Europe he toured with bands as a young man, playing various pub, rock and folk festivals. His love for music started at a very young age being raised in a family with a classical music background. This diverse experience and ability to play several instruments seeps in to his eclectic style. Mike’s Canadian experience has included playing as a session musician for various bands and concert venues. To add to this mixture he is a regular musician with the Christian Rock and Big Band Music team scene. Currently focusing on the base guitar he incorporates unique taps and licks with a dynamic sound. This instrument does not blend meekly in to the background but rather revs up and rocks out and can be clearly heard in his performances.
