Turning Green

Turning Green

The wig out wilful wobbliness of Captain Beefheart, the pop chops of The Kinks and the bliss-out abandon of Frank Zappa may all be discerned in the fabulous Green soup.

This Brighton based band’s sound has evolved over 4 years; through hundreds of live shows and two self produced albums, to become an unearthly vibration.

On stage they perform in a line, at the front, thrusting their energy forward. Vocal chants, rants, stories, harmonies and choruses are shared by the four of them. The incredible power and atmosphere of the band’s live shows, coupled with their willingness to travel anywhere, mean that they constantly build on their strong and loyal following.

Turning Green’s reputation as a live act has led to support slots with The Kooks, The Blockheads and The Levellers.

2008 so far: Has seen Turning Green sign to Fat Northerner Records to release single ‘Everybody’s Just a Little Bit…’.

Plans: Turning Green recorded their third album last autumn and will be releasing early this summer. A month in Spain with Sawmills founder Simon Fraser at the helm gave birth to an incredible record.
