Biography

Turning Point is a group of Christian musicians representing five different churches at the Jacksonville Beaches. Formed in 2005, they are primarily involved in ministry at Beach United Methodist Church in Jacksonville Beach.
Our music speaks of overcoming life’s struggles and the hope they have found through their faith in Jesus. They believe in sharing their own struggles in the hope that others can find the peace and joy they have experienced “at the foot of the cross.”
Our primary influences are Third Day, Switchfoot, Casting Crowns and Chris Tomlin. We are a mature band with significant life experiences that have shaped our music and ministry.

Psalm

PSALM
(© 2007, By Paul Pinkham and Robert R. Stevens)

A captive people far from home
Cry out, “How long, oh Lord, how long?”
Forty years in a foreign land
Wandering in the desert sand
“How long?”

Lord we know sin that has its consequence
A land will reap what it sows
And we know that we don’t deserve your forgiveness
But we throw ourselves on Your mercy, God

How long, oh Lord
Before we taste that cup of grace again?
How long, oh Lord, before the joy reappears?
How long, oh Lord, before we come home into Zion,
Before the stain of our sin You wash away?

Like the people back in Babylon
“How long, oh Lord, how long?”
The things I’ve done nearly cost my life
But for your awesome sacrifice
“How long?”

And I know sin my has its consequence
A man will reap what he sows
And I know that I don’t deserve your forgiveness
But I cry out God for Your mercy now

And how long, oh Lord
Before I taste that cup of grace again?
How long, oh Lord, ‘til my joy reappears
How long, oh Lord, will I feel like I’m forsaken,
Before the stain of my sin You wash away?

Sometimes I feel so alone in this world
Separated even from you.
But I cling to your promise of eternal grace
And I know you will restore me, Lord.
I’m forgiven by your blood, oh Lord.

But how long, oh Lord
Before I taste that cup of grace again?
How long, oh Lord, ‘til my joy reappears?
How long, oh Lord, will I feel like I’m forsaken
Before the stain of my sin you wash away?

I’m forgiven, not forsaken
I’m forgiven, not forsaken
I’m forgiven, not forsaken
I’m forgiven, not forsaken

The Choice Is Yours

Written By: Paul Pinkham and Bob Stevens

THE CHOICE IS YOURS
(© 2007, By Paul Pinkham and Robert R. Stevens)

If you could love me, I could take the hurt away.
And if you could love me, I’d chase the nightmares away.
If you could love me, your doubts would disappear
And if you could trust me, I’d take away your fear.

I love you enough to die for you.
But is that enough, oh, would that be enough,
For you to finally choose

The choice is yours.
I can’t make you decide.
I’ve opened the door.
Now come on inside (Repeat)

If you could believe in me, then you would clearly see
That if you believe in me, I’d fulfill all your dreams.
And if you could love me, your joy would be complete
If you could love me, oh, love only me.

I love you enough to die for you.
But is that enough, oh, would that be enough,
For you to finally choose

The choice is yours.
I can’t make you decide.
I’ve opened the door.
Now come on inside (Repeat)

Nothing you can do
Could make me love you less
Or separate you from my heart
If you could only know
How much I care for you
You never have to be alone, never alone.

The choice is yours.
I can’t make you decide.
I’ve opened the door.
Now come on inside (Repeat)

I Love Jesus

Written By: Paul Pinkham and Bob Stevens

I LOVE JESUS
(© 2007 By Paul Pinkham and Bob Stevens)

Oh, I love Jesus
He’s a friend of mine
I tell you I love Jesus
He’s a friend of mine
And when He’s in my heart
Every day He makes me shine

Jesus took my hand
And led me cross the sea
Oh, Jesus took my hand
And led me cross the sea
When I was sinking down
Jesus came and rescued me

(Chorus): Oh Jesus is my friend
I’m so glad we met
And with Him by my side
You ain’t seen nothing yet!
Oh, I’m so happy I can finally see,
Jesus, you’re such a friend to me.

(Guitar solo)

I talk to Jesus
Every night and day
I said I talk to Jesus
Every night and day
And Jesus takes my hand
And leads me in the way

(Chorus)
(Repeat 1st verse)

Palm Street

Palm Street
(© 2007, By Paul Pinkham and Robert R. Stevens)

I blow a kiss down Palm Street,
whenever I pass by
For You came to town on Palm Street,
the week before You died
No one knew but you Lord,
that You would be crucified
That’s why I blow a kiss down Palm Street,
Whenever I pass by

How it must have been for you Lord,
to hear the people’s cheer
Knowing in a few days, they’d be replaced by tears
You tried to tell them who you were,
but the people wouldn’t hear
Oh, how it must have been for you Lord,
to hear the people’s cheers

they sang

(Chorus)
Hosanna, (Hosanna)
Can you hear their voices ring
Hosanna, (Hosanna) Glory to the King
Hosanna, (Hosanna)
Can you hear Your people sing
Hosanna Come and save us Mighty King

How do You remember Palm Street,
my Savior, King, and Lord
Is it with a sense of purpose,
of what You came here for
Do You hear the people’s praises,
turn to an angry roar
How do You remember Palm Street,
my Savior, King, and Lord

I blow a kiss down Palm Street,
whenever I pass by
For my life was changed on Palm Street,
and You’re the reason why
You took my sins with You Lord,
when You climbed that hill to die
That’s why I blow a kiss down Palm Street, whenever I pass by
