"Turn to Fall Concert Review"

Turn to Fall's sound is gritty, complex, passionate, melodic and original. It combines indie, progressive, metal and hard rock with profound lyrics and melodic, soaring vocals. Founded in 2005 in Seattle, the sound has been compared to A Perfect Circle, Foo Fighters, Incubus, Coheed and Cambria, Faith No More, Rush, Porcupine Tree, System of a Down, and Tool amongst others. Turn to Fall brings together a wide variety of musical influences, and excellent musicianship to define an original sound. The music is unique, blending heavy soundscapes with catchy, melodic bass lines and creative drum beats with a driving rock energy that gets crowds moving.

Singer/guitarist Josh Brown reminds me of a mix between Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Brandon Boyd of Incubus. Somehow he's able to belt out such haunting lyrics as "Bursting forth from eternity, I will always and forever be. I will never die." while at the same time playing majestically blazing guitar parts.

Taking the lead is Leif Rowberg. The youngest of the bunch, his guitar playing possesses a level of skill far beyond his years but still infused with the intensity of youth. This kid can shred!

Edwin S. Peters II rocks the bass with an animated stage presence and is a site to behold.

Drummer Jason Haugland effortlessly drops hard hitting beats, complex yet tasteful fills and seamlessly switches to and from odd times.

I am totally blown away by the talent and charisma these guys display. The sound on the CD is heavy, energetic, with excellent musicianship and includes a generous helping of complex and hard hitting drum fills, guitar solos and soaring melodic vocals. Live, they reach the next level with an energetic performance and enthusiastic crowd response. If you have a chance to catch the next Turn to Fall show, or pick up a copy of their CD at the website, I would highly recommend it. - Alysin @ NorthwestBands.com

Bio

Turn To Fall is a clashing of influences and personalities that proves the whole is greater than the sum or its parts. From playing inside a small shack shaped like a teapot, flooded underground practice spaces, the main stage at Seattle's Showbox, Hempfest, Neumos and venues all around the Pacific Northwest, this band has gained a growing following of loyal fans.

In 2006, the band decided to take a break from playing shows to write an album. They moved in together to test their bond as bandmates and their talent as songwriters. Entering the studio in late 2006, they recorded "For The Fairest", a collection of 10 songs that are the best they have ever written.

With a fast approaching album release party and summer tour in the works, this band is poised to break out in a major way in 2007.
