Indie punk rock quartet Turtle Rising dishes out playful, pop jams, chirping guitar licks and grooving bass romps, but the band members’ voices are what make them fun to listen to. Their close-knit nature is ever-present in their music, which is characterized by scraggly, energetic laments—think dive bars just before closing time—with lyrical jaunts that weave between articulate anecdotes and bursts of coarse and fervid punk rocker musings.

Born in the heart of the Mission, SF, Turtle Rising is the end result of three roommates realization that they all play different instruments and could play them simultaneously. When they asked each other does any one write songs? One said "Yeah, I have some songs, but I'll need a friend called Beaver to noodle the gui-tar." The roommates agreed and the rest is history.
