"Tuscan Road Band Tunes Up for Point Beers"

TUSCAN ROAD BAND TUNES UP FOR POINT BEERS
Award-winning Wisconsin country rockers promote brands

STEVENS POINT, Wis. October 11, 2012 - The award-winning Stevens Point Brewery is turning up the volume by sponsoring award-winning country rockers Tuscan Road, one of Wisconsin's hottest up-and-coming bands.

The Stevens Point-based band, which outperformed dozens of bands last year to win the 2011 Wisconsin State Country Band Championship at Rhinelander's Hodag Country Music Festival, will promote Stevens Point Brewery beers at its performances across Wisconsin, on its website andFacebook page, and on its tour bus. The just-announced sponsorship also includes signage and posters at performances, and Point Brewery apparel for band members.

"Music fans already associate Tuscan Road with the Stevens Point Brewery," said Joe Martino, Stevens Point Brewery Operating Partner. "The brewery got caught up in the band's wave of popularity and our sponsorship is a natural fit. The band benefits from the sponsorship support and the brewery benefits from a partnership with one of the most exciting bands on Wisconsin's music scene. It is a win-win for everyone involved."

Tuscan Road lead vocalist and Point Beer fan Kevin Moore said the sponsorship joins together two popular Stevens Point icons in a mutually beneficial partnership. "Tuscan Road and the Stevens Point Brewery will build a fan base together," he said. "Music and beer go together, and we want to develop the sponsorship to the point that when people hear our music and the name Tuscan Road, they think of the Stevens Point Brewery."

About Tuscan Road

Known for their high-energy live shows, Tuscan Road's repertoire is an exciting musical fusion of hard country, rock music and blues that is rapidly gaining fans across the state. In addition to Moore, who also plays guitar, the band includes Tom Salin on lead guitar and vocals, Phil Smyth on guitar, fiddle and vocals, Paul Bannach on bass guitar, and Steven Freehill on drums and vocals. Four of the five members, including Moore, live in Stevens Point, and two, Smyth and Bannach, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with music degrees. The band released its first CD, Tuscan Road, at the beginning of this year.

"Our music features a lot of classic rock influences and a lot of classic country influences. I describe it as generations of rock music and generations of country music coming together in one band," said Moore, who credits manager Randy Woyak, Tuscan Road's mentor and business partner, with receiving the Stevens Point Brewery sponsorship.

Originally formed in Wisconsin Rapids, the band has evolved over the years as musicians came and went. Moore joined the group in 2006 and is the only remaining member from that lineup. "That's all history now. Today Tuscan Road is a brand new band with a brand new sound, and we are excited about winning new fans for both our music and the Stevens Point Brewery," he said.

Bio

When talking about Country Rock bands in the Midwest, it's nearly impossible to overlook the rapidly expanding influence of Tuscan Road. In 2013 alone TR has pushed themselves to the north woods of Escanaba, MI, down to Music City, USA, through the bright lights of Chicagoland all the way over to the tundra of Fargo, ND and back again. Not only has Tuscan Road been able to create success that surpasses the scope of other great Midwest acts, but have done so without booking agents, road crews or management. The recent partnership with Point Brewery as the first ever official sponsor of Tuscan Road has just begun to open up more ambitious endeavors of this already resourceful group. A new band roster paired with the relentless drive of each TR member and diehard fan promises to make this young group's future bursting at the seams.

Tuscan Road was awarded the Wisconsin State Country Band Championship at the 2011 Hodag Country Music Festival after competing with dozens of other bands throughout the region. They were also voted #1 Local Band on WISNs A-List Awards in Milwaukee later that year. TR has had the pleasure to share events and stages with many national artists such as Eric Church, Joe Nichols, Neal McCoy, Sawyer Brown, Lee Brice, David Allan Coe, Little Texas, The Lost Trailers, Pat Green, Justin Moore, Keith Anderson, Trailer Choir, Josh Gracin, The Dirt Drifters, Thompson Square, David Lee Murphy, The Randy Rogers Band and John Rich.

The excitement that follows Tuscan Road shows is only rivaled by their commitment to making each one better than the last. If you haven't heard of TR by now, get ready. New cities and venues are constantly being added to the roster as hype and great reviews follow Tuscan Road wherever they play. Catch them at your favorite corner bar, summer festival, or large venue hall. Because odds are they've played it and will be making their way back. Keep it weird.
