Bio

An artist from the southside of Atlanta (College Park), but born in Petersburg, VA. . .TwAn J started rapping around the age of 9, but never took his talents seriously. Constantly getting kicked out of class for writing raps during class, it didn't dawn on him until he was about 12 that he had a a knack for rhymes and quick thinking.
When he turned 19, he started a rap group that went under the name, "PowaHouse Recordz". Combining the talents of 3 of his friends and himself, they started performing at open mic events around the city of Atlanta. . .but all did not go well with that. . .after generating a name for themselves, a couple of the group's members decided they would not be able to keep up with the pace of progression at the time.
With only two members left, TwAn J decided to go as hard as possible. . .releasing two mixtapes in one year, he was on track to drop an album the following year. . .and then things got bad. . .TwAn J and the remaining group member ended up splitting and it left him to make a way on his own.
Currently an independent artist, TwAn J is working on his 11th mixtape (3rd solo). In his mind, there is no one better than him when it comes to rapping. . .only a close second. . .and to those who object that thought, TwAn J challenges you to reconsider.
Being influenced by greats like The Notorious B.I.G., Bone Thugs N Harmony and Tupac always made his train of thought about music different than most. It made TwAn J feel as though music should be felt and not just spoken. Keeping that mindset is what keeps him on a consistent pace to reach success. Working to deliver quality music with a message. . .something that has become rare in today's mainstream music.
