Telephone Road

Written By: Oliver Jones

Telephone Road
Oliver Jones copyright

It was early one morning
They found her bloodied shirt
Her picture in the paper
She lying dead in the dirt
So popular with the school boys
She wore a mini skirt
Now they’re pointing their fingers
The town is going berserk

Then it all comes around
Back on Telephone Road we found
We got high she went low
I will always remember her name
There were times I thought she loved me
There were big dreams in her eyes
She would never be leaving this town
And just driving away down Telephone Road

There was lots of confusion
A bad smell in the air
There was talk of a teacher
Who couldn’t get enough of his share
Sheriff pulling his hair out, Nobody wanted to talk
She wanted to be a movie star, Not an outline in chalk

CHORUS

It was early one morning
They found him hanging there
A respectable teacher in a house of despair
He couldn’t live without her
Haunted by what he’d done
Oh how he wanted to love her, But so did everyone

CHORUS

When I Was A Soldier

Written By: Oliver Jones

WHEN I WAS SOLDIER
O. Jones

I sit here waiting for the phone to ring
Someone to come along and change everything
Another life, another place in time
A brand new memory where I can shine

When I was a soldier, fighting just to hold ya
With all my energy
Oh my dear departed, we never got it started
So what's there left for me?
When I was a soldier

I hesitated when the time had come
I played the same string for far too long
A precious moment slipped right through my hands
A firm believer of a second chance

CHORUS
SOLO

Is there an answer to my questioning?
Someone to come and explain everything
A damn good reason why I couldn't shine
An explanation for the 100th time

CHORUS

Oh my dear, my dear departed
You're the one I never got started
Don't you know all my dreams fell through
But I need to go where my heart and soul
Takes me to a place where the music flows
Bleeding from wounds I could not see
When I was a soldier
When I was a soldier

READY FOR YOU

Written By: OLIVER JONES aka TWEED

READY FOR YOU
OLIVER JONES

I wasn't ready for you, I wasn't ready for you

So I'll go and push you away from me yeah
I won't deal will letting you know how I feel no
All around is hesitation when you're everything I'd dreamed you'd be

I wasn't ready for you, I wasn't ready for you

Be as it may, I'll never change what I do, no
Then I'll complain that nothing ever happens that's new, new
I don't care for golden visions, no
When everything is simple silver

I wasn't ready for you, I wasn't ready for you

Wide awake in my own earthquake
I watched it tumbling down

I'm justifying never winning you
I closed the door on our beginning

I wasn't ready for you, I wasn't ready for you

Rockin' On Your Own

Written By: Oliver Jones / Robert Parolin

ROCKIN' ON YOUR OWN (RADIODOGS)
Oliver Jones / Robert Parolin
I'm dreaming of driving my car interstate
Never fallen in love but maybe today
I`ll take what`s mine before they take it away
I`m hearing the voices say
You`re rockin` on your own
I`m feeling the changes are coming my way
On a four lane freeway where choices are made
This engine may explode but I`m not afraid
Cause it`s all gonna be okay
You`re rockin` on your own
Playing the charade, watching what you say
That`s so yesterday, time keeps rollin` on
Gotta breakaway, never be the same
I really gotta get outta this place
You`re rockin` on your own
I`m living and breathing the greatest escape
Been beat up and broke, yeh, but I`ll never break
Gonna find me a girl that I can shake
But then when the morning comes
You`re rockin` on your own
And I don`t wanna live my life wishing I was somebody else
Gonna get real high, gonna find myself
I`ll read the signs but do something else
Take a chance on the weather, the world won`t wait
So I`m gonna do it alone....
You`re rockin` on your own

SHE ROCKS

Written By: O. JONES / M. DIAME

SHE ROCKS
O. Jones / M. Diame
Like a diamond she`s cut in all the right places
By her beauty I`m struck, I trip on my laces
I melt like ice cream, when I see her I dribble
She drives me wild, she`s got something about her
Cause she rocks like a star on the big screen
When she walks I`m in a daydream
She looks like a model, when you see her
You`ll know what I mean.....She rocks
She plays bass in her band, her songs are peculiar
Like McCartney, left hand, there aint nothing cooler
I wish she was with me, we`d jam until sunrise
I`d help her load her guitars if she`d let me
Cause she rocks like Elvis and Hendrix
And she rocks Just like Lenny Kravitz
She looks like an angel, when you see her
you`ll know what I mean.....She rocks
I wrote her a song, I want her to hear it
It`s a number one song, she`d find it exquisite
I poured out my heart and I showed her my feelings
She`d fall in love with me in an instant
She goes out with this dude, oh he`s so pathetic
He`s like gum on her shoe, he just doesn`t get it
But what would be cool, if she was my girlfriend
She`d play in my band and we`d rock every weekend
Cause she rocks Yeh..she kicks their asses
When she talks She flickers her lashes
She looks like no other, when you see her
You`ll know what I mean....
When she`s walking by it`s like animation
I breathe out a sigh, god`s perfect creation
I`m ready to die cause that girl is heaven
I`d hold her hand to the gate if she`d let me (2x)
She rocks.. She rocks..
She looks like an angel, if you see her
You`ll know what I mean.. She rocks..
She looks like a model, when you see her
You`ll know what I mean.. She rocks

WE ARE NO MORE

Written By: OLIVER JONES

WE ARE NO MORE
O. Jones

When you're not there I seem to feel like you're around
But there's only so much of you I can see
If there's one thing I miss it's perfect company
And a whisper from your voice that's just for me

And I can help but feeling all alone, all alone

Words can't explain this whole world of pain
I'm feeling inside since you went away
I'm down on the floor, I'm climbing the walls
Cause we are, we are no more

Another day has passed it seems to be so long
Since I kissed your lips and watched you walk away
The silhouette of you on my bedroom wall
That disappears the harder I try to see

And I can help but feeling all alone, all alone

Words can't explain this whole world of pain
I'm feeling inside since you went away
I'm down on the floor, I'm climbing the walls
It hurts everyday, The words I would say
If only the chance to speak to you again
I wish you would call, I'm climbing the walls
Cause we are, we are no more

I still miss you

Words can't explain this whole world of pain
I'm feeling inside since you went away
I'm down on the floor, I'm climbing the walls
It hurts everyday, The words I would say
If only the chance to speak to you again
I wish you would call, I'm climbing the walls
Cause we are, we are no more

YOU (SIGHT FOR SORE EYES)

Written By: OLIVER JONES

YOU (SIGHT FOR SORE EYES)
O. Jones

Sometimes you lose, sometimes you find
Sometimes I believe it's better not to know
If you've lost your way like a scene from yesterday
When it all comes crashing down continue with the story line

All I have to say is you are such a sight for sore eyes
You're all I have to feel brand know
Despite the grey in my skies

Sometimes you will know, sometimes you'll be blind
But when it starts to show you never seem to find me
We'll know what to say when love comes creeping
We'll be at peace once again

All I have to say is you are such a sight for sore eyes
You're all I have to feel brand know
Despite the grey in my skies
So much I believe in you
All I have to say is you are such a sight for sore eyes

Oh if that's what it takes
To hold it together through bends and breaks
It seems what you say it doesn't seem to matter anyway
Cause I know that's just you, you're all I need

All I have to say is you are such a sight for sore eyes
You're all I have to feel brand know
Despite the grey in my skies
So much I believe in you
All I have to say is you are such a sight for sore eyes

FIND YOUR WAY

Written By: OLIVER JONES

FIND YOUR WAY

Pack up your suitcase
And say your goodbyes
Leave it all behind
A strange little feeling's
Got you believing
You're running out of time

Equipped for survival
No fear in your eyes
Easy as she goes
A whole new beginning
A reason for living
It's time to let it go

All around we need to see
The truth so we believe in anything
When all around is make believe
It's hard to see what's real anyway

Out on the ocean
With waves crashing down
You start to feel it change
Time doesn't bind you
So don't look behind you
Soldiers remain

Pack up your notebooks
And say your hurrahs
Leave it where it lay
A whole new beginning, (everyday it starts)
A reason for living,
Guiding you,
And helping you
Find your way

ALL IN THE MUSIC

Written By: OLIVER JONES

ALL IN THE MUSIC

You ask me is this what I like
You ask me can I do it right
You're always trying to work me out
But it's clear to see

You ask me if I know the score
You ask me what I did before
You're always trying to figure out
But it's clear to see

It's all in the music
It's all in the music

You ask me is it black or white
You ask me does it feel alright
You're always wanna know it all
But it's clear to see

You ask me is it blue or grey
You ask me what I did today
You're always trying to work it out
But it's clear to see

It's all in the music
It's all in the music

Going round and round
It just keeps singing back to you
You don't have to question baby
Ah... it's what I do

It's all in the music
It's all in the music

WALK AWAY

Written By: OLIVER JONES

I don't wanna wait another day
And I don't wanna see if you're gonna stay
It's harder this time
But I've made up my mind
I don't wanna wait another day

I don't wanna see you cry again
And I don't wanna get too close and then
It makes me sad
But I gave all I had
I don't need see you cry again

You'll be alright
We'll never fight again
We were better friends anyway
You just need the time
To make up your mind
It hurts but you know it's right
We all walk away sometimes

I don't wanna feel that way again
All the things we had way back when
Our love it fell
And I know it so well
I don't wanna hold onto the pain

You'll be alright
We'll never fight again
We were better friends anyway
You just need the time
To make up your mind
It hurts but you know it's right
We all walk away sometimes
We all walk away sometimes

And I'm feeling so afraid
Could this all just be a mistake
Now you and I have gone our separate ways

I don't wanna wait another day

You'll be alright
We'll never fight again
We were better friends anyway
You just need the time
To make up your mind
It hurts but you know it's right
We all walk away sometimes
We all walk away sometimes
