"Twenty Two Hundred are different. Not for them the AC/DC clone sound, nor the standard (but classic) Aussie pub sound. Instead they go for a style of hard edged funk largely driven by their fantastic bass player and general all rounder Mark, combined with some huge drumming from Drew.
Their music has a soul, a feel that stands it apart from many other hard rock bands. There is even an almost Gospel type outro on “Ugly.” You get the feeling they are not afraid to tread new ground, to combine influences into their own hard hitting sound. The vocals are perfect for their style, with vocalist Ben proving to be extraordinarily versatile. Listening to him I can hear several big name singers in his voice. The package is rounded out by some fantastic guitar, somewhat reminiscent of EX Dio (R.I.P), and current Whitesnake man Doug Aldrich.
Their popularity is increasing, largely due to some reportedly stunning live shows and a strong web interaction with their fan base. They currently have one EP available for purchase, Twenty Two Hundred – Eleven. The future awaits." - Only Australian Music, Paddy, June - 27 - 2010
"These guys are awesome players and it comes as no surprise to see Slash among their top MySpace friends. There are definitely Sunset Strip hair metal influences here. As many flaming images as possible in their EP’s artwork give you a fair idea of what to expect together with the track titles, which include Sweet Dirty, Who’s Ya Daddy?, Ugly (“I know you’re beautiful, but you’re so ugly on the inside”) and Sucker. If shredding guitars and yowling vocals like Mark Wahlberg’s character in Rock Star are your thing, Twenty Two Hundred definitely go one louder. Fancy throwing some devil salutes their way? Head to the Espy front bar on Wednesday 19 May.”

"Twenty Two Hundred showed plenty of promise with a bass-heavy and guitar-driven rock sound while Coheed and Cambria tried pumping the audience but their lengthy songs evidently alienated some as the beer queues got longer." - L.A.M.C. PRODUCTIONS Dylan Tan, August 6, 2010
"The venue was buzzing with enthusiasm and when the first band, Twenty Two Hundred, set the pace for the 5-hour long event. The band was personally invited by Slash to perform on our shores and they set the stage on fire from the get-go." - The UrbanWire.com AMIRIL MUHAIMIN, AUGUST 4, 2010
"Twenty Two Hundred, a talented and very promising Australian band, kick-started the whole show with high energy" - LIFESTYLE, Salima Nadira August 4, 2010
