EP - 2009 (To be released in the Spring)

Twiceborn was formed out of years of dedication and hard work by founding members Steven Kennedy and Robert Strain. Each had the dream of forming a rock band for years – this dream was soon realized when their paths met.
Steven was a self-taught guitarist when he decided to pursue a music performance degree at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. There, he studies classical guitar, which has not only aided his playing abilities, but his writing abilities as well. After trying out several musicians and bettering himself as a guitarist, he met Robert Strain.

Robert's first major experience with music was playing saxophone in his high school jazz band. Not long after, he began to develop his voice, taking inspiration from many great rock vocalists.
Taking from his great love of literature, perhaps Robert's greatest asset is his writing ability. His lyrics, which are often dark and ethereal, combined with his ability to craft haunting melodies really add a unique, otherworldly feel to many songs.

When the two met, Steven had amassed a collection of songs he had written over a few years, which Robert brought to life with both his voice and lyrical talent. After working together for a few months, their writing styles began blending well and they were ready to complete the band.

Next came bassist Tyler Shelton. He was able to catch on quick and add the backing sound the band was looking for. A few months later came Tyler's friend Austin Reeves on drums. Austin's background in both metal and jazz drumming styles added a potent combination of dynamics and tightness to the band.
The band just finished a full demo. Originally, this demo was intended to be released as an EP, but due to some changes made during tracking, some small rhythmic issues arose. The band plans to rerecord the songs in late Spring.

Twiceborn's influences include Led Zeppelin, Alter Bridge, Dream Theater, Queens of the Stone Age, among many others.
