Their sparse approach creates a spaciousness that lets the bittersweet compositions breathe, suffused with the calmness of a sunlit early morning. One could easily describe it as dreamy or blissful, but there's nary a shrouded note - these are songs that pulsate with quiet emotion and golden-hued translucence. - The Deli Magazine
The folk-pop quartet Twin Oaks, who call the sprawling city of angels their home, conjure up an arresting and dynamic storm with “Animal” - The Wild Honey Pie
“Floating along on a plaintive acoustic strum, minimal percussion and the stirring vocals of Lauren Brown, [Not An Exit] weaves and meanders along, echoing the quiet but constant trickle of a stream that is only ever heading towards something far greater than itself.” - GoldFlakePaint
“Not An Exit is dreamy in more ways than one. The overall sound could be pegged at ‘Dream Pop’ and filed next to Lemolo or Fiona Apple, although the slighly fuzzy and minimal instrumentation conveys a slow serene imagining rather than some vividly ethereal fantasy. The result is a collection of songs that sound confidently crafted and fully controlled, holding the hand of the listener through beautiful oneiric landscape they have created.” - Wake The Deaf
"Lauren Brown’s vocals are a feminine and melancholy reminiscent of Hope Sandoval." - Lucy Frend - Amazing Radio

Bio
Spending their early years as a soft-sung bedroom folk duo lead by singer Lauren Brown and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Domingo, Twin Oaks have continued to redefine their grand ambient sound through the release of their latest full album "White Noise" released on October 23, 2016. "White Noise" introduces Twin Oaks as a full 4-piece band with the addition of multi-instrumentalist Louis Bernal and drummer Rhyan Riesgo, swapping hushed acoustics for grander sounds though pulsing drums, atmospheric synths, and ambient guitars underneath Brown's softly-sung vocals.
From their previous release, Twin Oak's single 'Find A Way' from "The Lion's Den" EP was well received through The Deli Mag's Artist To Watch list, received local airplay from KSPC and numerous college radio stations, and landed a #1 spot on the Amazing Chart from UK's Amazing Radio.
Twin Oaks have recently shared stages with Emma Ruth Rundle (of Marriages), AKW, Archer Black, and Bear On Fire.
