Bio

Young Ell and D2theH (born Eric and Derrick Hillman) are the talented duo behind the growing phenomenon ‘Twin Thing’. The 19 year old identical twins were born in Nairobi, Kenya but have lived in Somerset for most of their lives. The young men were born to perform; from an early age the boys were enthusiastically writing and producing their own music.

They realised they wanted to use their talent professionally when their sister invited a host of talented performers to her 18th birthday party. Watching the likes of Wiley and N Dubz on stage motivated them to take their music to the next level. They so badly wanted to stir the same excitement in audiences and allow their music to touch the lives of young people throughout the world.

The boys are solely responsible for choreographing their entertaining performances that include their exceptional gymnastic background and their appreciation for different types of dance. Their eclectic sound is a unique mix of their African heritage, their English upbringing and their need to educate their fellow peers on pertinent social concerns. The boys want their music to inspire and educate as much as provide entertainment for their peers.

So far, the proceeds from all their performances have been directed to ‘Mama Upendo’; a children’s home that was founded and is supported by their loving mother. The boys feel very close to the children they support and have visited Kenya numerous times to spend time with the children in the home, inspiring them and lifting their spirits with their music.

Twin Thing have a myriad of musical influences that they incorporate into their unique sound including Michael Jackson, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the African Jazz Maestro Hugh Masekela. They have always taken such pride in their work and as such, they insist on being involved in every aspect of their music and performances. All the twins want to do is share their music with the world. So have a listen, enjoy and comment away!
