Twister

Twister is the new 5-piece band right from the heart of Scotland. With a natural and mysterious stage prescence, Leah Gourley leads the band with striking, soulful vocals, perfect for a new and exciting approach to British blues rock. Leah is accompanied by talented guitarist Stew Methven, former member of The Revivals, who featured on the bill at South by Southwest 2006 and 2007. Having played with the likes of Tracy Conover, accompanying her in Texas and in tour in Scotland, Stew brings his signature clean licks and inspiring solos to the table, resulting in a well-rounded and smooth sound. Stew's influences such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robin Ford and Kenny Wayne Shepherd and the great BB King, combined with soulful and contemporary vocals inspired by great timeless artists such as Peggy Lee, Big Mama Thorton and Joni Mitchell, as well as the contemporary acoustic Americana sounds of Natalie Merchant, Alannah Myles and Lucinda Williams are just a small part to the essence of their sound. Their strong rhythm section build the basis of a tight band, creating a vibrant and raw sound in live performance. Twister offers a fresh and emerging sound with power in all the right places.
