Bio

We are a Rock & Roll Band.
Not because of the money. We don't make any.
Not because of the fame. We don't have any.
We do it because our souls are made of the stuff that makes you scream, cry, dance and bang your head until you pass out. That's true ROCK & Roll and we don't know any different.

The Vinyl Cherries is based about an hour south of Nashville in the small town of Cowan, TN. VC formed in late January of 2008. Lead singer Mose Wilson had recently moved home after attending a year of school at Belmont University in Nashville and was looking to put together a new band with guitarist Danny Hartman who had also moved home after a year of school at MTSU. They received word of a drummer from Tullahoma high school named Isaac Eady. Eady was the first of three scheduled try outs but after his audition he had made such an impact on Wilson and Hartman that the other auditions were cancelled. The last piece of the puzzle was a bassist. After a series of failed attempts searching for the right player Houston Jones proved to be everything the band had been looking for and more by adding strong backing vocals along with his solid bass lines.
Being so young and having no credit as a band the four struggled finding gigs but never lost sight of their goals. They played mostly free shows in the beginning at local high schools, fairs, and other small events. The initial break was the 1st place grab in April at the International Dogwood Festival’s Battle of the Bands. The win got the band great publicity and added to the confidence and drive that was already perceptible. Since then they have been rocking fraternities all over middle Tennessee and venues like Nashville’s The Rutledge and Murfreesboro’s Coconut Bay Café.
