Bio

Since their formation in 2005, Two Spot Gobi have released two studio albums ‘Everywhere You Should Have Been’ (2009), and The Sun Will Rise (2011). Made up of professional musicians, their sound combines the harmonies and song writing of Maroon 5 with the musicianship of The Dave Matthews Band.

Their well-crafted live show has led the band to a great reception wherever they play. This was accentuated when the band caught the attention of mulit-grammy winning artist Jason Mraz in 2006. He invited them to tour with him in 2008 before welcoming the band to record at his home studio in San Diego. Since then the band have visited the US on several occasions, performing at a variety of events including an official Oscars after show party hosted by Leeza Gibbons where they shared the stage with the likes of Michael Bublé and Olivia Newton John.

In October 2011 the band headed to California to begin promoting their new album together with their ‘Music Set Free’ initiative, which has been a resounding success in the UK so far. The project sees the band deliver an interactive workshop for all age groups with the aim of inspiring children and young adults to express themselves through music. The workshop is then followed by a concert so the school have an opportunity to see the band perform. Attracting both local and national press, the project has also received Arts Council funding in the UK. The height of the attention was captured earlier this year when the band were featured in The Sunday Times. Supported by Bose in both the US and the UK the band are now in the process of implementing the workshop in schools throughout California.

The bands profile elevated when blogger Perez Hilton featured them on his website in July 2011 and wrote about the song ‘Tomorrow’ - which sees the band collaborate with Jason Mraz. This expanded the bands fan-base as well as catching the attention of the industry. Having had good success with online radio, current US label Musik1 will begin a terrestrial radio campaign in the next few months.
