Bio

The World's Slowest Comeback (like many local bands) comes from humble beginnings. Will Furr and Matt Hollen had gone to school together as kids. 2007 was the year that Will met Tyler "Gooch" Burke, John Bauer, and Derrick "Beardface" Bailey. The 5 of them decided to give music a go, and started with a micro cube amp, a guitar going into rockbox into stereo speakers, a bass amp less than 12 inches tall, and a vocalist without a mic or a PA. But, they kept at it, scrapping money together as they could, and eventually celebrated their first noise complaint in early 2009.

Once the necessary equipment was arranged, TWSC began the daunting task of mixing their wide ranging influences, stretching all the way from The Strokes to Metallica to Rage Against the Machine, back to Clapton and John Lee Hooker, and forward to Clutch and Killswitch Engage, TWSC has a unique blend of blues, metal, and punk, making them impossible to categorize and even harder to forget.

In late 2009, TWSC made their local debut at Bubbafest, a first annual event honoring a man that many of them knew. After not progressing to the next level of Battle of the Bands at Muncie's own Doc's Music Hall, TWSC didn't stop. After fine tuning a lot of their work, they hit it again performing a packed show at the Heorot, where they saw their first major show.

2010 saw the departure of Derrick "Beard" Bailey, and as the band wished a talented musician best of luck, Ty Tremaine stepped up to the plate to play drums.

With Ty joining on drums, the band took off to tackle Indianapolis and headlining their first show at Doc's Music Hall in Muncie, IN. Further on, they entered into Gorilla Music's Battle of the Bands, a multiple stage event that saw TWSC come out on top. Not all was well, however. Fresh off that win, the band bid adieu to their second founding member, John Bauer. No sooner than John was gone, friend, roommate, and roving guitarist Jesse Rittenhouse has stepped up to bring a taste of metal to the group.

With 2011 now almost gone, TWSC shows no signs of slowing down. Fresh off recording with well respected Lava Records in Cleveland, OH, the band is fine tuning some of their work and hitting the road yet again. Despite the humble beginnings and many speed bumps along the way, The World's Slowest Comeback has begun!
