""One of the best soul singers we've heard of late . . .""

“Wonderfully warm vocals from Ty Causey -- one of the best male soul singers we’ve heard of late, and an artist with a sound that should be getting him big play in years to come!”
- Dustygroove.com

""Another excellent release from Ty . . .""

“Another excellent release from Ty containing so many great songs you will want to let this CD play from beginning to end.”

- Paul Philips, Solar Radio

""Ty possesses a great soulful voice.""

“Ty possesses a great soulful voice. With ‘Love Notes’ he follows up to and surpasses the much heralded N-Tysing.”

- Soul Brother Records/UK

"Male Vocalist of Year Nominee/Soultracks.com Readers Choice Award 2005"

"From the bluesy opening on the first song, "Life On Track," Causey makes it clear that he is not simply creating N-Tysing II, but is moving into a gutsier, more R&B-oriented sound that is as appealing as its predecessor but which stretches Causey more as a vocalist. While there are still plenty of smooth jazz touches (such as on "Visions of Love"), the album's more aggressive programming and the addition of W.R. Sanders' wha guitar give it an edgier feel that keeps it both interesting and mildly funky even though it is dominated by love songs. This is especially true on two great cuts toward the middle of the disc: the uptempo "Breathless" and the bluesy "Love's Messin' With Me."

Love Notes is worthwhile in its own right but is even more interesting to me because of the development Ty Causey shows as an artist. This is a solid soul album that deserves play on urban adult contemporary radio and should gain for Causey a following beyond smooth jazz circles."

"The smooth R&B and sensual soul of this man continues apace with a collection of toe-tappers and ballads, none of which disappoint."

One Ty Causey CD is a good thing but TWO within 12 months really is a surprise. I think it was Mae West who once said that too much of a good thing was what she wanted, and as far as this man and his music goes, I can definitely agree with her. Those of you who are familiar with Ty Causey will need no introduction and those who bought the CD will know that it is a safe bet to go straight to CD Baby and order this without even hearing it. The smooth R&B and sensual soul of this man continues apace with a collection of toe-tappers and ballads, none of which disappoint.

Although I love this set there is nothing this time that I can compare to the magnificence of his vocal version of George Duke's "Before Sunrise", but please do not read that as a criticism. That was one hell of a track and one hell of an act to follow.

"Step Out Tonight" is gentle stepper and is a track that allows Ty to get into a real crooning mode which serves him particularly well and is followed by the jazz-tinged funky number, "Breathless" which is quirky, lively and effortless all in one breath. If you loved the last set you will adore "Visions Of Love" which is similar to the sort of tight, shuffling groove and Richard Rogers styled vocals that so impressed me first time around. It’s not all that often, really, that we hear sax on a record today but that's what is served up on the gorgeous ballad, "Part Time Lover".

The cool piano groove of "Heart To Heart Forevermore" is tender and I particularly like the sentiments within it. It contrasts well with many so-called love songs today that only really, if we are fair talk about sex and not love. Ty understands that love is more than physical and goes much deeper and higher than that. Love isn't just the domain of the bedroom!

My favorite track closes the CD - just like he did on his last set, oddly enough, and "Settle Down" acts as closure on this fine CD by in the song settling down with his lover and making a happy home. The tinkling, jazzy piano at the end of this CD and the eerie keyboards are to die for! You know, many knock songs about love and romance, but when you stop and think about it - like many quality artists do - this is the basis of all our lives, wants, needs and desires and it is quite a responsibility when writing on the subject. I have always thought that ballads sort the men from the boys as far as artists are concerned, and CDs like this certainly can be filed in amongst those I consider men. Ty Causey can get your feet and fingers tapping and he can set the mood right for romance. What more could we ask for?

""When it’s time for romance, slip Ty Causey’s “Love Notes” into the player . . .""

“Love Notes” is the title of the sophomore release from soulful crooner Ty Causey.
Ty is one of the emerging artists from the surging independent soul scene in many parts of the country.

“N-Tysing” was Ty’s debut CD, which was a soulful smooth jazz oriented project, with plenty of vocals, along with support from special guests Najee and Nelson Braxton of the jazz duo Braxton Brothers. On “Love Notes”, the sound shifts to a R&B base with subtle jazz influences.

The focus is definitely on “love”. Something the world needs more of. “Life On Track”, “I Miss You”, “Visions Of Love”, and “Fallin’ For You” have just the right lyrics, along with a sensual mid-tempo groove that’s just right for romancing. Take an elegant spin around the dancefloor to the melodic rhythms of “Step Out Tonight”, before things get serious when “Settle Down”, “Keep On Lovin’ Me”, and “Love’s
Messin’ With Me” create that special atmosphere to round out your evening

When it’s time for romance, slip Ty Causey’s “Love Notes” into the player, and let the rhythmflow!

""A cross between Donny Hathaway and Marvin Gaye""

"I’ve gotten a number of calls that think the CD is fantastic. A cross between Donny Hathaway and Marvin Gaye - that old school flavor with the taste of new school R & B." - Andrew Cade, WTCC 90.7FM Springfield, MA

""Possessing abundant sex appeal, smooth vocal ease and poetic mastery, Causey is catching the attention of a growing fan base.""

Ty Causey has just released N-Tysing, a delicious collection of groovable melodies and romantic vibes. This R&B/jazz vocalist came into focus after his work with jazz saxophonist Najee as a featured singer/songwriter for the Morning Tenderness CD and worldwide tour. Possessing abundant sex appeal, smooth vocal ease and poetic mastery, Causey is catching the attention of a growing fan base.

Causey kicks off the CD with an instrumental track, Rise Up. He plays his own keyboards throughout the majority of the album. Najee steps in on saxophone for a sexy Your Love’s a Mystery. Causey does layers of his own background vocals in a tapestry that creates a hauntingly rich mood. You feel the loneliness and desire in Love Light, as Causey aches for a lost love to return home. Until Sunrise, music by George Duke and lyrics by Ty Causey, is a soulful delight of rhythmic splendor.

Although his voice is as smooth as silk, it is the lyrics that define Causey’s style. He has that rare ability to spin tight hooks that just melt across the arrangements. Reminisce in the Moonlight may be very well destined to be that special song for romantic couples this summer.

Bio

Mellifluous, enticing, passionate and dexterous – these are superlatives most certainly appropriate for defining the style and sound of singer/songwriter/musician Ty Causey.

After lacing tracks on smooth jazz saxophonist, Najee’s, MORNING TENDERNESS CD and joining him as featured vocalist on his subsequent world tour, the Indiana native began crafting his aptly titled debut, N-TYSING. The acclaimed collection that featured guest spots from saxophonist Najee and bassist Nelson Braxton of the jazz duo Braxton Brothers garnered praise such as, “This really is an excellent CD - it falls into the rare category of being a “no risk disc”. “So, if you love the quality side of vocal soul-jazz then this is the CD for you.”- Soul Express UK , “A delicious collection of groovable melodies and romantic vibe.”-Jazzreview.com, and “Refreshing vocals, awesome arrangements and welcomed songs.” - Anthony Baxter, then of Magic 101.7 Charleston, SC. It also rightly found its way to the playlists of radio programs in the U.S. including Vaughn Harper’s Quiet Storm on WBLS-FM 107.5 in New York, Music Choice and abroad where it was played on the UK’s popular, Smooth FM as well as on Solar Radio. He was also recognized and tabbed by 98.7 KISS-FM personality Lenny Green to be a part of his popular Kissing After Dark live broadcast, also in New York. The exposure gave notice to an engaging new voice with the timeless qualities and flair of renowned R&B/Soul singers.

To the delight of captured fans Ty Causey is now back with the triumphant follow-up, LOVE NOTES and again as on N-TYSING his golden tone reigns supreme in a set that boasts both hip-swaying grooves and silky-smooth fare but with an even more soulful lean. True to its name, LOVE NOTES is a script for romance at every level from the playful to the seductive, finely delivered with Causey’s trademark passion, sincerity and expansive range in great abundance. Featuring standout tracks such as “I Miss You”, “Heart To Heart Forevermore”, and “Keep On Lovin’ Me” , LOVE NOTES is already being hailed as even stronger than his debut which found its way on several “best of” list for 2004.

LOVE NOTES should surely continue what N-TYSING began and contribute greatly to the deserving rise of a true talent.
