Tyler Suarez is a nineteen year old multi-instrumentalist from the small town of Naugatuck, Connecticut. Tyler has always had a strong affinity for music and musical expression. Over the years, Tyler has been involved in many musical projects. From blues and jazz to experimental space rock and indie alternative, Tyler is a versatile and experienced musician.

After years of collaborating in jazz bands and punk rock bands in the CT/NY area, in 2015, Tyler decided to find his own sound and released his first solo project, “Demos… Songs with a Meaning.” Since then, Tyler has never stopped creating. Tyler says he “uses music to process the world” around him, and knowing that people are able to connect to his music along the way is an “indescribable” feeling. Tyler believes that “music bridges the gap between what words can do in explaining and how we really feel.” With his fourth album slated for release in early 2019, Tyler continues to expand his musical arsenal and experiment creatively.

With strong ties to punk rock and indie alternative stylistic compositions, Tyler's musical atmosphere is very fluid. Creating more artistic and conceptual projects, Tyler's songs become more than just three minutes of music; They become pieces that expand on and elaborate the themes and messages within a project.

Currently attending the University of Bridgeport and majoring in Music Education, Tyler keeps himself busy by teaching guitar at SoundWave Music Studio in Prospect, Connecticut. Continuously writing and performing original music, Tyler is dully committed to spreading powerful, political, and existential messages through art and activism.

Tyler has played alongside of many other talented musicians including Jonathan Edwards, Jon Pousette-Dart, Mark Erelli and Kenny Rogers. Praised for his guitar playing by the grammy award winning producer and musical, Jim Pugh, Tyler performed at the 2018 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco and was introduced by Fantastic Negrito.

In June of 2018, Tyler signed his first record deal with the independent label, Little Village Foundation. “Little Princess,” the song Tyler and his grandfather, Joesph Cyr, wrote to grief, honor and continue the legacy of Dawn Lafferty Hochsprung, is featured on the student protest compilation album “Raise Your Voice.” With this collection of voices from across the country, one singular voice emerges: One of love, sadness, empathy and a profound call for change.

The past is the past, but the future is what ever you want it to be! Tyler has many projects in the works. The new album "I Don't Feel at Home" is slated to be released on February 11, 2019. Tyler will be touring around the tri-state area to not only celebrate its release, but its message. Email tyler21199@gmail.com for contact/booking information.
