Tyler Filmore Band

The small world phenomenon applies no more to Kevin Bacon than it does to The Tyler Filmore Band. From on the mean streets of Saint Louis County onto the University of Missouri, the saga of our band has been long in the making.

At Lafayette High School, Tyler Filmore began to sing alongside an acoustic guitarist/friend Robbie Yakel. Less than five miles away, two Parkway Central High School underclassmen, Max Holter and John Frischer, were tempting fate with Green Day and Weezer covers in their own band.

In college, Yakel and Filmore continued their music, while Holter fell off the musical radar. His best friend Frischer was in pursuit of a professional music career.
(Fast forward two years)

A summer-get-together with friends was the scene of one fateful happenstance. Frisher plays pool with Filmore, ex-neighbor. Holter gooses Frisher. Frischer introduces Holter. Filmore talks about Yakel. Yakel played baseball with Frischer. The union of Filmore-Yakel-Frischer-Holter and the genesis of The Tyler Filmore Band.

The Tyler Filmore Band is influenced by a variety of musical styles, shamelessly blending pop, country, and acoustic into one band’s voice.
