Bio

Tyler Simmons is a 17 year old singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada. His sound is a contemporary rock sound with a pop edge. His vocals are outstanding, with a warmth and authenticity rare for someone his age. His songwriting is way beyond his years and convey powerful emotions that you can experience in songs from "It Could be You" to "Avalon". He has a great band of him plus 4 guys and Tyler is comfortable on both guitar and piano.

Tyler has played a huge number of gigs for such a young artist and is regularly contributing to charity events, playing at school and a steady number of gigs in the Queen St West scene. His main influences are Imagine Dragons, U2 and The Beatles.

Tyler is not a stranger to the stage and has performed for small audiences to crowds of thousands. He loves to perform and had the good fortune of performing a Sebastian Kole original with JRDN, opening for Andy Grammar, opening for Tyler Shaw, and singing with Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Tommy Thayer(KISS) and Gene Simmons (KISS). Tyler has performed at venues such as the Danforth Music Hall, Panasonic Theatre, House of Blues in Las Vegas, Bluebird in Nashville, Yonge and Dundas Square and Nathan Phillips Square (City Hall), both in Toronto and Keorner Hall at the Royal Conservatory as well as others.

Tyler spends much of his time writing independently or collaborating with others to create songs that connect with his growing audience. His most recent collaborations are with Adrian X (Drake), Andrew MacTaggart (Steven Tyler), Brian Melo (Canadian Idol Winner), Jack Lenz (Award Winning Composer), James Bryan (Philosopher Kings/Prozak) and others. Having written many songs over the past few years, he is currently working on an EP. The first song he wrote, at 14 years old, called “When You’re Gone” is the only one he has chosen to release as a single on iTunes.

Other notable successes are winning a full paid scholarship to Berklee's Five Week Rock Workshop for Vocal and Guitar.

Tyler is currently working with an incredibly talented band that is being led by his exceptional musical director, Justin Abedin (Jack Soul and Amanda Marshall). His band members include Callum Maudsley as lead guitar (Scott Hellman), Kyle T on bass (Shane Hart), Chris MacFarlane guitar (Dan Talevski, Francesco Yates) and Chad Davis on drums (Tyler Shaw). This new collaboration is taking his music to new heights. He performs either solo (at charities and fundraisers) or with his band (for sets 30 to 60 minutes or longer). Program and playing a musician on Family Channel/Disney TV show called Backstage.

Tyler looks for every opportunity to perform and as a singer/songwriter sharing his music with his growing fan base is his aspiration in life.
