Tone aka Type SMOOVE

Tone aka Type Smoove has established himself as a Producer & Songwriter using his creativity and talents to compose music that is rhythmic and very commercial. It all started with a childhood dream to be a part of the Entertainment Industry. Growing up in the early years of Hip Hop, Tone's musical influences were from such Rap Music Pioneers as The Sugar Hill Gang, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Kool Moe Dee, and Run DMC.

Several Years later, after graduating from Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts with a Degree in Audio Engineering and still in pursuit of his dream, Tone ventured out to LA to work in the recording studios where some of his favorite artists recorded. During his two years of working in LA Studios, Tone managed to work on several recording projects. His most memorable project was as the Assistant Engineer on "All About the Benjamins" recording the Notoriuos B.I.G.'s vocals, March 6th, 1996 - three days before the fatal tragedy. Other projects Tone worked on included artists such as the Late Rick James, DJ Quik, DMX, Eve, Shaquille O'neal, Immature, Adina Howard, Kirk Franklin, Pharcyde, etc. In between busy recording sessions, Tone also managed to answer the request of a producer friend, Jae Chong, to write and perform a rap verse on Taiwan's Pop sensation Coco Lee's single, "Still In Love With You". The song later sold over 300,000 copies world-wide.

Tone observed production techniques from some of the R&B/Hip Hop Industries Top Music Producers such as Rodney Jerkins, DJ Quik, Swizz Beatz, and Vincent Herbert to name a few. Tone returned to his hometown of Annapolis, MD to create his own studio/label promoting the music of Annapolis Artists and helping to launch their music into the main stream. He has produced songs for local artist in the DC/Maryland area such as Red Dott, Cell Spitfire, Keep It Raw, V.DOT, T-Y, BT.O.P, Sexxxxxy Tee, Neenah Taylor and now Tone is once again reaching out to the International Market. He has written & produced songs for a European artist, a.k., formerly of the Dutch girl groups “Kick" and “Soca Girlz”. Most recently, he has written & produced a compilation of song for Uncle Skunkle Toys to promote the release of Bambooga, the Human Puzzle Game. The song was premiered at the NY Toy Fair, followed by showcases in Thaliand (Bangkok & Chiang Mai) to bring awareness to the charitable contributions of Kid's Ark Foundation.
