"Tyrone Cotton"

With a striking assortment of stylistic exploration and embodiment of genres from straight up Americana to hints of rhythm and blues, modern pop to singer/songwriter folk rock, Tyrone Cotton somehow makes all these moods, languages and directions meld into one, cohesive sound, unusually original and especially personal. With his distinct voice, slightly reminiscent of Bob Seger (or even the faintest hint of Otis Redding), he carries these songs with an unforgettable presence, as lush as David Gray and as raw as Dylan. Don't miss this one. - CD Baby

"Laura Shine Best of Louisville music 2006"

"Soulful like Otis Redding, with tinges of Bob Dylan, Cotton is someone to watch as one of Louisvilleā€™s best up-and-coming songwriters." - Louisville's Ececntric Observer

Bio

Together Tyrone Cotton and Danny Kiely have performed throughout the US and Japan delivering music which is solidly rooted in the blues, searches for the raw and the beautiful, and sometimes blurs stylistic lines.
Singer, songwriter, guitarist Tyrone Cotton grew up in Louisville, Ky. Very early on music grabbed his attention. With the many charms music had to offer, he was lured in. Music was all around him: radio, stereo, someone singing, someone playing. He was spellbound, and at some point in his teens he was convinced that music is what he wanted to do, and he's been playing ever since. Tyrone's Music embraces many genres, blurring stylistic lines.
Bassist Danny Kiely, also from Louisville Ky, performs regularly with Tyrone Cotton and produced 2005's Tyrone Cotton CD through Kiely's company In Room One Productions. Recently Kiely performed with Bonnie "Prince" Billy at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
Some recent gigs have seen Tyrone and Danny opening for the legendary Blind Boys of Alabama, Jolie Holland, The Eric McFadden Trio, and Grammy nominated artist, James Hunter.
