"Local Talent Makes Headlines"

This is a story of the typical teen gone wrong. His teachers said he’d never make anything of himself and his parents wondered whether he would become a contributing member of society. He had little self confidence and very little ambition. He ran with the wrong crowd. Then something amazing happened…he knew his life wouldn’t change unless he changed his surroundings. In August, 2006 Tyson Bowman left Erie, Pennsylvania for Phoenix, Arizona to attend The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. While there he discovered that pursuing a career associated with his passion for music made the world take on a different hue. He excelled and graduated from The Conservatory in June, 2007 with an Audio Engineer diploma. The day he graduated, he drove three days straight to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his dream of working in the music industry. Once in Music City, Tyson completed an internship with Embassy Music, an artist development company. There he learned many facets of the music business, including music booking. In January, 2008 he started his own music booking business which he calls Guitar Shark Booking. He is the President of the company and has become entrenched in the world of matching artists with music venues. For more information check out info@guitarsharkbooking.com. Tyson, a singer/songwriter in his own right, is also pursuing a music career. Tyson recently attend a Vocal Mini Clinic in Nashville with world-renowned vocal coach, Renee Grant-Williams. Renee has coached many of the stars including Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks and Miley Cyrus. On Saturday, November 8, Tyson is the newest guest artist at the famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge on Broadway in downtown Nashville. Tootsies has produced many country-western stars over the years. This teen who some thought would never succeed, is currently attending Columbia State University pursuing a degree in Business Management. - Erie Times News
