Bio
ÜBER-TONE's sound echoes from beach parties to sweaty East London warehouses. Drawing on musical influences from the last 25 years of electronic & dance music, ÜBER-TONE weave sparkling vocal melodies, over a backdrop of sculpted bass lines, synth riffs, and solid beats to deliver hook-laden tunes aimed at the dance-floor. With their mix of digital & live instrumentation, ÜBER-TONE manage to create sounds blending 70’s disco, through 80’s synth pop, house, and dubstep - all within a live DJ set format!
The project is a collaboration between Dobi Kwe – vocalist and keys, Steve Brandwood – production, electronics and guitar, Shaun Lee – bass, and Zsolt Olah – drums. Together in 2012 they rocked venues in London including the iconic Ronnie Scott's, in Brighton with a residency at The Komedia and also supporting Groove Armada singer Saint Saviour at The Hope, plus a number of intimate festivals around the UK, with lead singer Dobi Kwe also performing at Blissfields and Bestival 2012!
ÜBER-TONE’s first release in June 2012 (a 90’s house reworking of heath:ward’s Acidisations) is available to download from all good online retailers (http://tinyurl.com/6ng72w8). Their second release – a 4-track EP and fan-favourite entitled Go Get Yours was out in October 2012 with great reviews. The EP includes fantastic remixes from heath:ward, Dirty Toys and Circle (Sup-Peeps records) and is also available from all major online retailers (http://tinyurl.com/bvsx3ga).
