Hailing from the same cloisters as Coldplay at UCL in London, UnderCityLights is a Harmony lead, melodic rock group who draw on a diverse range of influences, from Bon Jovi and FooFighters, to Feeder and Snow Patrol.
Formed in late 2008, UnderCityLights have been putting pen to paper, and now command over an hour of individual material, with much of it semi-professionally recorded by Home Studio. To showcase these new songs, UnderCityLights have performed at some of London’s most notable venues, including the Half Moon, Bull & Gate, and Water Rats amongst others, to considerable reception.
Beyond the melodies and pop hooks, material contains a wealth of topics, with songs ranging from ‘musings of on the after-life’ (Questions and Answers) and ‘self determination’ (Free to Run), to more common themes such as ‘love’ (Moving Pieces) and ‘confusion’ (Tell Me Why). Each song is painstakingly crafted such that no line goes without thought, and so that it is sung like it might be spoken.
